Notes

Beginner to expert trails. Up, down, turns, mixed stands of forest and clearings provide an exciting terrain for the skier. The flow of the trail is Swedetown's specialty. The trails are groomed daily for skating and striding. 4 km of trails lighted until 8 p.m. Host to the annual Great Bear Chase in March.

Trails are in excellent condition, but expect things to get a little soft in the afternoon as the sun reaches its peak. All trails were dragged and classic tracks are solid and fast. Grooming completed at 1:30 pm.

The system was tilled and tracked, but the trails are starting to show a little wear and tear from lack of snow. Skate lanes are hard and fast; classic tracks are generally good but warm conditions will lead to some softening. Grooming completed at 2:30 am.

All trails were dragged today, and skiers will find the trails fast and fun, following several days warm/cold cycles. Best skiing will be in the morning before the sun's rays warm the snow pack, and late in the day as the snow starts to cool again. Trails will be tilled and tracked on Sunday morning. Grooming completed at 10:30 am.

Skate lanes were dragged but there is an accumulation of fresh snow in the classic tracks in some areas. The Multipurpose Loops were dragged as well. All trails will be tilled and tracked on Wednesday to take advantage of the latest batch of snow! Grooming completed at 11:30 am.

A great big thanks goes out to the approximately 781 racers, plus volunteers, friends, families and everyone else who made this year's Great Bear Chase another overwhelming success!

Trails are buffed and ready to go for today's great bear chase race! At last count, over 700 skiers have signed up, so it's going to be busy! Come out and cheer the racers on. Regular grooming patterns will commence tomorrow, as well as grooming on the multipurpose (dog) loops. Grooming completed at 12:30 am.

Perfect conditions... ready for the Bear Chase. The skate deck was firm with a dusting of fresh snow, following maybe 6-8" of fresh the previous day. Tracks are solid. Lovely day as the sun came out later in the afternoon. Racers should have perfect conditions on Saturday.

The system is set up for the upcoming Great Bear Chase, so skiers can expect to see a few different twists and turns on their favorite loops. Grooming will resume on the Multipurpose (Dog) Loops on Sunday. Grooming completed at 10:30 am.
