It doesn't get any better than today. Lots of new snow the past 3 days, all groomed to perfection. We are at the high mark so far this season, with an honest 38 inches in my backyard.

All trails tilled and tracked. An infusion of new snow freshened the trails nicely and a local weather inversion has created a winter wonderland of frosted trees. Grooming completed at 12:30 pm.

If you have forgotten what a real winter looks like, come to the Swedetown Trails in the Keweenaw Peninsula in the U.P.; they have tons of snow-over 250 inches so far this year-and they groom it daily. Although today's heavy new snow slowed things down somewhat, we really enjoyed these beautiful wooded trails ranging from easy to most difficult.

All trails are tilled and tracked, but continued windy conditions across the Keweenaw means that the classic tracks will get filled in in some areas, and the skate lanes may be soft due to snow accumulation and drifting. Best bets are the wooded trails, where the snow build-up is minimized and skiers are protected from the elements. Grooming completed at 10:00 am.
