Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trails at Swedetown are a little less than perfect today: brisk winds last night brought down a fair amount of debris, especially on Pine and Powderhouse loops. The classic tracks remain firm, and the skate lanes were all dragged. Grooming completed at 11:30 am.

All trails are freshly tilled and tracked, and the Multipurpose (Dog) Loops are packed and rolled. Not just excellent conditions throughout the system, but beautiful as well, with the magic of snow-covered boughs on the trees. Reminder: tomorrow is Trails Day at Swedetown from noon until 5 PM. Free skiing and free rentals (first-come first-served). Bring a friend, check out new gear and have fun!

So much snow, such beautiful trails. Excellent conditions, great grooming. Only challenge was winds were strong, blowing snow and twigs from the conifers. Trails in the hardwoods were barely effected. The south end of Greenstone had a tree blow down across the trail. Wish you Yoopers would share your snow with the rest of us, but at least you share your trails.

Another 4-6" of fresh snow is tilled and tracked; base has now surpassed the 2-foot mark and continues to grow! All trails are in excellent condition, although new snow falling throughout the day may lead to tracks and skating. Grooming completed at 10:00 am.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails tilled and tracked, grooming completed at 11:00. Windy conditions have blown much of the snow out of the trees on wooded loops but there are still a fair amount of good-sized snow snakes in the trees, so be careful on trails such as Pine, Powderhouse Ridge, etc. Excellent conditions throughout the system, so there's no excuse of breaking your New Year's resolution of skiing every day at Swedetown!

Beautiful classic skiing today on well-groomed trails. Slightly warmer weather and faster tracks made for a fun outing.
