The trails are freshened up with 1" of wet heavy snow that came down overnight. The skate lanes were dragged; classic tracks are still in good shape. Expect conditions to get faster as the temperature drops. Beware! The trees are laden with snow snakes, which may lead to a chilling and unpleasant surprise for the unwary skier. Use caution when skiing the wooded trails, as some of the snow-laden branches have a substantial amount of accumulation in them. Grooming completed at 11:00 am.

All trails are tilled and tracked. Excellent conditions prevail throughout the system, with very firm tracks and skate lanes. The Multi-purpose (Dog loops) our packed and rolled as well.

Flat solid base with a little fluff on top. As scenic as can be. The weather has been the same every day: 15 to 20 degrees with a couple inches of fresh fluff. Chalet upper level will be open 7 days a week starting Friday. Trail lights are on until 9PM every night.

With more than 30 inches of snow in the last 4 days, there's plenty of snow at Swedetown (and Tech Trails). The skate deck was very soft today, and portions of the Bears hadn't been groomed since we got 6+ inches last night, and the snow keeps falling and falling and falling. So skating was slow unless you followed the groomers. But at this point, it's great to have the lake effect snow machine in high gear--every day in the 10 day forecast is showing lake effect snow predicted.

With 10-12 inches of snow overnight waiting for us this morning, areas with bare spots are now filled in and looking good. Rolled most trails this morning and setting 10-15K of tracks for the weekend. Weekend skiing should be very good and Swedetown Chalet will be open for the weekend.

With over 12 inches of new snow this week, all 30K of trails have been dragged. Base trail coverage ranges from excellent to poor depending on area due to wind scouring. Expect there to be fair to good early season conditions for this coming weekend and following week.

Freshly rolled 6"-8" over bare ground or icy base after high winds. West side trails now open, but watch for hidden rocks in a few spots. Swedetown has been skiable since the last week of October.
