Nice ski at Cleary on Wednesday evening. Very good coverage for skating. Classical tracks had been set and were in very good condition. The new snow was fairly dry and abrasive, and a bit soft making for a good resistance workout. I used good skis with no problem, although did hit the hard underlying ice layer a couple times when pushing off. Conditions should get even better with the latest round of snow. Note - Lower Ironwood hadn't been opened yet, but Ironwood was open and in very good condition. Thank you to the groomers, it is great to be skiing here again!

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The trails were groomed for skating but soft (not set yet). Many skiers were out there packing it down. Not tracked for classic. A few rocks poking out on one of the uphills (recommend B skis). The trail along the lake was covered with no rocks. It was great to be out on natural snow!

I wouldn't recommend skiing on the Cleary Lake trails until we get another few inches of snow. While most of the main loop is covered and groomed for skating there are plenty of bare uphill sections.
