Notes

Small park near the end of the Gateway Trail. There is beautiful scenery with trails winding through pine forest, and near small lakes and picturesque farms. The course is quiet, sheltered, and has a lot of fun roling hills. Most of the terrain is intermediate in difficulty.

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Pine Point ski trails have been packed as of this afternoon. The trails are skiable but very thin so rock skis are advised. Happy skiing!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Bare ground ]
Mtn/fat bite trail work day. About 10 people worked to throw branches and kick down dirt piles at Pine Point East. I think that's what this new area should be called. It will be multi-use but horses will not be allowed on these new trails. Our goal was to smooth things out enough so that a good snow cover and some packing will make the trails ride-able this winter. Trail signs will be going up soon. The current area (northern part) is about 30% woodland and 70% open grassland. The southern part which has yet to be brushed will be about 50% woodlands and quite hilly. The ultimate goal next summer is to further improve the trails to be ride-able in the summer and to make some of them single track. The woodlands on the north side are rideable now. The grass areas are very bumpy. Snow cover should smooth them out nicely. It will be nice to have trails to bike on summer and winter accessed at the end of the gateway trail.
