Notes

Small park near the end of the Gateway Trail. There is beautiful scenery with trails winding through pine forest, and near small lakes and picturesque farms. The course is quiet, sheltered, and has a lot of fun roling hills. Most of the terrain is intermediate in difficulty.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomers are out this morning. There are some icy spots at the bottom of hills and snow is thin on trails North of the Gateway Trail. Overall, the skate deck and tracks look great. The multi-use trails on the East side were packed too.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I took the classic rock skis in order to keep it slow on this quiet trail. The trail is also groomed for skate style after a well done widening job. Track begins after leaving the trail head. I saw enough spots that warranted B skis at best. The deck is generally flat with a few low spots filling in with each grooming run. Track was good everwhere I skied on the west side only. I did not ski every segment. The trails I saw had gentle hills and rollers that were easy for an experienced skier. Some of the blind turns may be a bit challenging for beginners. Regardless of your skill level, go slow and enjoy this beautifull trail.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It was too nice out to not go ski a second time on my way home. This was my first trip to Pine Point in several years. The skating looks pretty nice, but I was actually classic skiing for a change. My only complaint was that the track wasn't set everywhere. Odd coming from a guy who rarely skied there in the past because it was classic only. Where there was track it was great. Where it was a skate deck only, it was really good.

I skied all the trails west of Norell (parking lot side) from noon until 1:15 pm. It is in great shape for skating. The trail is bare in a few spots, but you can go around those spots. The classic track is set only in the prairie. The snow seems shallow for setting a classic track. It is one of the best skis I have had around this area in years. Thank you groomers, you did a great job.

Excellent trail conditions!! While skiing you see the beautiful snow on the pines while you're skiing along long stretches of beautiful, flat, groomed trails. I would highly recommend this trail for casual skiing and fast skiing. No classic tracks set yet.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skate and classic at Pine Point. As of this year skating is officially allowed at Pine Point. The west side trails have been widened for a skate lane and classic. No classic set yet. Firm packed lanes with dirt and small ruts and bumps but skiable with rock skis. A fairly decent ski. The east side (multi-use/Fat Bike) trails had more snow and skating was better. Firm enough to fat bike as well. The east side of Norel are the new fat bike trails. The woodland trails on the east side had lots of debris and would be sketchy for anything but fat bikes.
