Notes

Small park near the end of the Gateway Trail. There is beautiful scenery with trails winding through pine forest, and near small lakes and picturesque farms. The course is quiet, sheltered, and has a lot of fun roling hills. Most of the terrain is intermediate in difficulty.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good conditions with well packed trail for classic. A lttle debris on trails but easily avoidable. Did the two mile yellow trail and highly recommend. Beautiful scenery with frosted trees and mature pines. Love this Park. Oh, and the horse hoof prints previously reported not a big deal on this trail.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions are mostly pretty good, but the trail on the east side of the park had hoofprints. That's right, someone had ridden a horse right down the middle of the ski trail. So there were divots and chunks of packed snow the size of a horse's hoof all along the trail. There was no horse damage west of the Gateway Trail. The classic tracks there were fair; good coverage, but icy and a lot of litter. The skate trail was in a little bit better condition, but plan on dodging a lot of twigs. I would recommend B skis.

Super icy conditions in the pines/forested areas and a fair amount of debris. Someone rode a horse on many of the trails leaving icy and uneven areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All Pine Point Ski Trails and Multi-use trails were packed and we attempted to lay track. There is some tree debris on the trails due to the high winds and a lot of snow drift as well. Overall things are in fair condition.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
The trails have been packed for skate skiing and the trails are in fair/poor condition. Due to the winds it is a little thin in some areas. No tracks set yet due to expected snow drift. We are hopeful to set track once windspeeds die down.

I skied the loops north and south of the Gateway Bike Trail. Both in very good condition. Recently groomed. Some leaves and spruce cones. Not many bare spots, so I could easily ski around minor exposed areas. Thank you groomers! The trails were in great shape. I only have one pair of skate skis and I was never concerned about scratching them. No classic grooming.

Nice easy first outing of the season. No bare spots, I covered all trails-quite good considering amount of snow. Excellent grooming-Thank you!

Surprisingly good coverage for skating considering how thin the base is. No classic tracks. B skis if you are careful. There are large sections that are quite nice. But rock skis if you've got them. No bare ground to speak of and minimal debris. Good ski outing. Beginners could find the bumpy and soft conditions a challenge but still worth it. Just have to find the good areas. Up top on the prairie loop was very good. Multi-use trails were soft and slow. Getting slower by noon.
