Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Giants Ridge has received 24" of new snow since February 18th! Our groomers have been working tirelessly rolling, grooming, and setting track on the trails. Everything except Wynne Creek and Laurentian have been Pisten Bully groomed. Trails are on the softer side, but they will only get better as we continue to groom with the PB. Conditions should be great for the Pepsi Challenge this weekend! Get out and enjoy these incredible conditions!

Lots of snow here. Only bronze, summit, and northern lights tracked. Deep snow still on gold and cedar at top of mountain. It's a pity that the Ridge isn't taking advantage of the great snow on more trails.

All of cedar was freshly groomed. Parts of gold, summit, and bronze were fresh. Silver had icy hills initially, but the farther out kilometers were worth the early discomfort. Laurentian trail had a lot of debris on the surface. Thank you groomers.

Skated the Silver, Laurentian, Wynne Creek and Summit Trails perfectly timed to enjoy the speed created by 27 degree, warming temperatures under bright, sunny skies! Most of the trails were recently groomed with flat smooth, firm corduroy and tracks. Actually had the opportunity to put down first tracks of the day on the Wynne Creek Trail without regard to the numerous fresh wolf tracks. All trails are in great condition, so get out and ski!

Skied the Northern Lights, Laurentian, and Wynne Creek in about one inch of new snow with 20-30 MPH winds grip was absolutely fantastic on the fine grained, 15degree, snow without tracks. When approaching the Summit trail from the Wynne Creek, a light appeared which was not one of the random LED lights hanging from the trees. The groomer set a new track all the way up the Summit trail leading to a perfect trek to the top. Gold trail was still snow covered but very controllable. Trails should be in the best condition of the season with the 2-3" that fell last night. All trails are groomed including the South Oslo.

We have incredible conditions at Giants Ridge right now! We have reported 9" of new snow in the last 7 days, which has given us a great base. All of our trails are open and are being groomed about every other day on our rotating schedule. Come on out and enjoy the best conditions of the season!

While there is not as much snow as in the past, all the trails I skied were in good to very good condition. Classical on gold and cedar was best followed by summit. Bronze was good but not as good as the others. Skating deck looked very good tracks were set a little shallow because of the thin base with a few scattered sticks and dirt. No fear of damaging skis.

Skate skied Bronze and Summit Loop. Good coverage, nicely groomed. An occasional soft spot or uneven surface, but that was expected with the minimal snow. Overall was excellent conditions and a great afternoon to ski.

Every Snowflake Helps! The trails are surprisingly well covered for the here and there snowfalls we have received! Kicked my way through the Gold (not tracked), and finished up with awesome tracks on the Summit. The Bronze was also set with tracks. Merry Christmas to the GR groomers!
