Skied the Northern Lights, Laurentian, and Wynne Creek in about one inch of new snow with 20-30 MPH winds grip was absolutely fantastic on the fine grained, 15degree, snow without tracks. When approaching the Summit trail from the Wynne Creek, a light appeared which was not one of the random LED lights hanging from the trees. The groomer set a new track all the way up the Summit trail leading to a perfect trek to the top. Gold trail was still snow covered but very controllable. Trails should be in the best condition of the season with the 2-3" that fell last night. All trails are groomed including the South Oslo.

We have incredible conditions at Giants Ridge right now! We have reported 9" of new snow in the last 7 days, which has given us a great base. All of our trails are open and are being groomed about every other day on our rotating schedule. Come on out and enjoy the best conditions of the season!

While there is not as much snow as in the past, all the trails I skied were in good to very good condition. Classical on gold and cedar was best followed by summit. Bronze was good but not as good as the others. Skating deck looked very good tracks were set a little shallow because of the thin base with a few scattered sticks and dirt. No fear of damaging skis.

Every Snowflake Helps! The trails are surprisingly well covered for the here and there snowfalls we have received! Kicked my way through the Gold (not tracked), and finished up with awesome tracks on the Summit. The Bronze was also set with tracks. Merry Christmas to the GR groomers!

The groomer was out ahead of us for the second straight day pounding down another surprising, daily light snowfall. Away from the beginning cart paths, Silver, Gold, Summit trails are in amazingly good condition. Powder of last week was transformed into an increasingly flat, firm skate deck. Base is still too thin for classic tracks. Just a few rock heads and wheel rut dirt splotches remain. There's nothing like skiing continuous hilly trails again!

We have approximately 50 km of our Nordic trails that have been rolled. This includes; Northern Lights, Summit, Wynne Creek, Bronze, Laurentian, Silver, Cedar, and Gold. We just upgrade our trails to "Fair" condition, so bring your "B" skis. We still only have a 1-2 inch base, so pole plants aren't the best yet. We still need more snow before we can start setting track or using the knifes on the ginzu. We will continue to roll the trails until we receive more snow, so keep the snow dances going. We have machine made snow in the Nordic Stadium with 2 sets of track set around the perimeter.

Summit, Bronze and Northern Lights trails were all packed Thursday yielding about 2" of medium firm base. In addition to the packed trails, powder classic skied the Wynne Creek, Silver, Laurentian, Gold, Cedar, Biwabik Spur and Oslo Wednesday and Thursday. Unpacked trails were fair with about 6"+ of dry powder snow on a bit of scattered icy November base. Rock hits were plenty on the unpacked trails. Packed trails were fantastic for flat track and skied in track classical. Conditions can only get better with additional grooming and more snow.

Rolled. Lumpy but decent skiing. Skating is your best bet. Summit and bronze are fine. Worth the time for most.
