Notes

Blackwater Environmental Area was developed in 1999 by Minnesota Power and includes a warming shack and lighted trails groomed of skating and a single-track classic. Terrain is beginner-level and very gently rolling.

Lots and lots of debris — mostly pine needles. Branches have been cleared. There was pretty good glide inspire of the rough spots. Barred owl spotted on Black Forest Cake loop!

Grooming is not done. We are clearing trees and packing it down before grooming. Trails can be used but they are not groomed. If anyone wants to help remove branches/trees, contact Cohasset parks. There is a lot of work to do out there yet!
