About 17km total of trail loops near the St. Cloud penitentiary. Some scenic woods and great hills. [ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Orchard Loop is now groomed classic and skate. The drifts are knocked down so it's a little soft, but should firm up some overnight.

North Loop rolled and groomed with classic track set this morning. Skate deck is a little soft given all the new snow but great skiing anyhow. Hilltop, Orchard and Warm-up are rolled but not groomed. Balto's (dog loop) is not groomed or rolled.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
The groomers were out last night and rolled Hilltop, Orchard, Warm-up and North Loop. We received about 6 inches of new snow yesterday, so lots of work for the groomers. Thanks to them! So, skate lanes should be in great shape. Perhaps today they will be able to set a classic track.

Went at about 7pm. Trails were firming up as I skied. There were classic tracks on the Hilltop Loop. Overall conditions are very good out on the trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Went out at noon. About 15 degrees out. Snow was dragging on my skis, but I had LF HWK 3 on my skis (cold weather). Trails were about 5 ply on the Orchard Trails and 4 ply on the Hilltop Trails (Scale from 1 to 10 ply). Once the trails freeze down overnight skiing will be sublime. The classic tracks were groomed over and blown over in some areas of the trail. Did not ski the North Trails. Once again the grooming team did a great job getting out on the trails.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skating Lanes were reset Friday night on the Hilltop Loop, Orchard and Warm Up Loops (11K's). I was able to set a new classic track on the Warm Up Loop and then had equipment issues so could not reset the rest of the system. The old classic track is still in most places so skiing should still be OK. The Orchard Loop has some big drifts so hopefully the skate deck I was able to sneak in is still in place this morning. We will need to get some bigger equipment out there to get that back into good shape. The North Loop was not touched last night but looked to be in good shape for classic and skate skiing. Classic tracks should get reset on the system once the equipment is repaired.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Northloop, Hill Top, Orchard, and Warm-up all groomed classic and skate. A little soft, but should firm a bit overnight. Balto's (dog loop is not rolled or groomed). Also, there have been several sightings of a single wolf-looking critter over the last few weeks at Orchard, Hill Top, and Warm-up.

Night
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied all trails Monday night. Due to the new snow, there was powder on top of the base. Classic tracks are groomed on the North Trails, Orchard Loop, and Hilltop Loop. For skate the North Trails have a better pack due to people skiing them. The Orchard and Hilltop Loops are both soft, but skiing is pretty good on both. After the snow stops falling and the groomers can catch up, the trails will be great.
