[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We ran the Ginzus over the skate lanes of both the 5K and 10K trails this a.m. , trying to further pack the soft snow, then set new Classic tracks on both trails. The temp drop tonight, following today's "warm" temp, should harden the tracks. Until we confirm that, members are requested to KEEP DOGS OFF THE TWO GROOMED TRAILS. Members may take their dogs onto the Oval and the Stadium.

6" of lovely snow today! This evening we groomed the 10K trail edge to edge. The skate surface is soft , and fun. We will reset a classic track on the 10K on Tuesday. We groomed the Skate lane on the 5K, but left the existing classic track as it had been skied in throughout the day and is reasonably firm. We will reset the 5K classic track tomorrow when the 10K track is done. Due to the soft, new snow we are CLOSING BOTH TRAILS TO DOGS (Members' Dogs ONLY at Snowflake) until the trail/tracks firm-up. Welcome back Winter!

Snowflake is only open to members and their accompanied guests today and tomorrow. Our hours are 8 - 8 on both days. The 10K Trail was groomed for Skate and Classic last night and is lovely. The 5K Trail was groomed for Skating this morning; The 5K Classic Track is the track set on Thursday: it is well skied-in, hard and fast! The skating is fast, groomed sugar over a hard base. We will be open to day pass skiers again starting Monday, when our hours will be 8 - 7, Monday -Thursday.

Had a great ski at Snowflake this morning. Groomers did a great job bringing the trail back to fantastic skate skiing after the January thaw. The trail will be in fantastic shape for meet tomorrow. Hats off to the groomers!!!

Beautiful, sweet sugar skating where the groomer has been. Icy and rock hard where it hasn't! The track is very shallow now. I didn't trust it.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Snowflake is only open to Members/Season Passholders today through Sunday. Our hours are 9:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. Today we re-groomed the skate lanes on both the 5K and 10K trails. The Surface is like sugar over a hard base and skiers today are loving it. The classic track is the worn remnant of last week's amazing track. It is shallow and worn on the curves, but hard and fast: we do not think we can improve it by tearing it out and resetting at this time, so we are leaving it alone. A reminder that we are hosting the East H.S. Invite nordic race on Friday, and the facility will be packed with participants from 9:00 a.m. until about 4:00 p.m. Snowflake members are welcome to ski on the sections of trail not marked for racing. We will be regrooming the skate lanes each day, and after the race on Friday.

John Graham has done a fantastic job and has saved the season! I skied everything and it's great. It's hard and fast, but they've churned up the skate deck enough so you can get an edge. It's great for those of us (40+) who need to work on balance. Also, it's great for anyone who wants to beat my record for double-poling the 5k. I doubt you'll be able to. Also, I saw two pileated woodpeckers. Or the same one twice. It was great. Open to members only!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Today we were able to groom the skate lanes of both the 5K and 10K trails. The old classic track is still nicely formed and will be nice once it is skied-in. Our base came through the thaw remarkably well, in large part because most folks honored our trail closure. We will be open for members/season pass holders only from Wednesday - Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note: Dogs are not permitted on the premises at this time. We will resume the usual procedures for day passes and dogs once the trails firm-up and we have added some fresh snow.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, B skis ]
Snowflake is CLOSED today and will remain CLOSED Tomorrow. We surveyed the trails today and while the the base is holding-up, the surface snow is soaking wet and fragile. Temperatures today did not go as forecast, and we will not be taking groomers out on the trails tonight. If the forecast for tomorrow proves accurate, we will groom tomorrow and be open to SNOWFLAKE MEMBERS ONLY, on Wednesday. We are looking to quality skiing in February and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our skiers. Updates at our voicemail, facebook, and Skinnyski.
