Classic Tracks were set on the 10K trail this morning. Both the 5K and 10K Skate lanes were re-touched. Classic track on the 5K, set Sunday night, remains firm and getting faster from being skB skis until we get another decent snow. The newly set Classic tracks on the 10K were barely used today, due to the frigid temps: Virgin tracks waiting for any hearty souls who come out tomorrow!

I skied all Snowflake under a beautiful, nearly, full moon night, no need for a head lamp. The 5k is as described by previous posts, solid with a decent classic track set. Well packed in from the high school skiers. The track is a bit shallow, but pretty darn good. Special K is a little bit soft, but also nice. The 10k is groomed/rolled, but no classic track. It seems like there is enough snow to set one, but that is only by my inspection in the dark! There were only a handful of skate tracks on the 10k, so it is soft and slow! Beautiful night, a treat to ski under the moon. When it went under a few passing clouds it was as if someone turned the lights off!

5 K at Snowflake was quite good, 95 % covered and groomed yesterday, the classic track looked pretty good as well, the Special K is still pretty soft, all in all A-.

5 K at Snowflake is rolled and tracked. Beth and I were striding, and it was great. A couple thin places, and 2 or 3 very short icy patches. We used our best skis, and I think any obstacle easily avoidable, but there are still a few. Great to see quite a few others out there. Official amount was 8.2 inches at the airport by 9 PM Sunday.

Grant N. and I skied both the 5k and 10k on Wednesday night. Everything is groomed and skiing nicely for the minimal snow cover, no classic tracks yet. The 5k has firmed and frozen up nicely, lots of use by the high school teams. There were only a couple of tracks in front of ours on the freshly groomed 10k! Still some wet areas that haven't had a chance to freeze yet and it is quite a bit softer than the 5k, but pretty decent skiing. It is still very much rock skiing and there are no lights. We skied with headlamps and hit a few rocks. In the daylight it should be easier to avoid the rocks. Could definitely use more snow, but nice to be out there.

Skied 5k loop this evening. A few larger rocks in the trail here and there (as opposed to bare ground), some small patches of ice almost not worth mentioning. Overall nice conditions. Dark as the trail lights are not functional at this time. Bring a headlamp. No track for classic.

Skied the 5k this morning. Trails are ungroomed and covered in about 2-3 inches of snow. There are some exposed rocks, grassy spots and a few flooded out dips. Very skiable and fun to be on snow again but definitely rock skis only.
