[ Good skis ]
5 K at Snowflake was quite good, 95 % covered and groomed yesterday, the classic track looked pretty good as well, the Special K is still pretty soft, all in all A-.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
I skied the 5km trail today. It was great! A good solid track that may firm up more with this evening's fresh snow and cold temperatures.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
5 K at Snowflake is rolled and tracked. Beth and I were striding, and it was great. A couple thin places, and 2 or 3 very short icy patches. We used our best skis, and I think any obstacle easily avoidable, but there are still a few. Great to see quite a few others out there. Official amount was 8.2 inches at the airport by 9 PM Sunday.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Grant N. and I skied both the 5k and 10k on Wednesday night. Everything is groomed and skiing nicely for the minimal snow cover, no classic tracks yet. The 5k has firmed and frozen up nicely, lots of use by the high school teams. There were only a couple of tracks in front of ours on the freshly groomed 10k! Still some wet areas that haven't had a chance to freeze yet and it is quite a bit softer than the 5k, but pretty decent skiing. It is still very much rock skiing and there are no lights. We skied with headlamps and hit a few rocks. In the daylight it should be easier to avoid the rocks. Could definitely use more snow, but nice to be out there.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Rock skis ]
Skied 5k loop this evening. A few larger rocks in the trail here and there (as opposed to bare ground), some small patches of ice almost not worth mentioning. Overall nice conditions. Dark as the trail lights are not functional at this time. Bring a headlamp. No track for classic.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Skied the 5k this morning. Trails are ungroomed and covered in about 2-3 inches of snow. There are some exposed rocks, grassy spots and a few flooded out dips. Very skiable and fun to be on snow again but definitely rock skis only.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Conditions: Wet and grassy with some snow.
The rain last night really did a number on the trails. Ton of bare spots and puddles interrupted by intermittent snow patches. We got around the 5k once but I'd consider it unskiable at this point.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Conditions: Freshly groomed for skate and classic.
5 K loop was good for skating, with no bare spots and only 2 or 3 rocks.... could use good skis. Just a few wet/frozen spots on Special K. Classic track was good too. 10 K not groomed. How wonderful to be greeted by 90 year-old George Hovland behind the counter, in his red Norwegian sweater! Many thanks to John, and the grooming crew!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Conditions: Newly groomed for skate and classic.
About 4" wet snow that the groomers have packed and set for skate and classic tracks. Couple rocks on classic tracks that are easily avoidable. 5k only. Tomorrow morning should be excellent.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Bare ground ]
I skied about 1 PM Saturday. Trails rolled but not tracked. NWS said 6.5 inches at DLH and Snowflake is only a couple of km away, but the snow was wet at first when it came down. I skied classic no-wax on the shorter loop only. Lots of folks skating. Fewer wet spots than I anticipated, and most were on special K. Very thin, of course but very skiable, and great to be out on Nov 19.
