2014-2015 season
Reports 4 to 13 of 32    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec | Nov

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: The Black Loop has plenty of snow and no bare spots.
The Black Loop was fantastic! It appeared to me that I was making fresh tracks from the last little bit of snow that fell earlier in the week. The downhills are fast, hang onto your hat!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Very Good packed trails with tracks in place.
I classic skied around 12:30 p.m. on portions of the red, green and purple trails. The snow was packed down but with just enough loose powder on top to make skiing fast and easy. There is some debris on the trail, so by weaving in and out of the tracks, I avoided having any leaves stick to the bottom of my waxable skis.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Bare ground ]
1-2" bombproof hard packed. The purple, red and brown trails have been groomed for skating. At this point, only B skis or rock skis are advisable due to the low snow cover and many thin spots with some rocks here and there.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Very good conditions. A few thin spots on the green trail and a little dirty in the pine plantations.
I skied all 5 loops skating. There was about an inch of new snow over the weekend which covered most of the dirty track. The classic tracks looked good except for a few leaves in the track and a little dirty in the plantations. Most of the skating trails were groomed this morning.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Skied the purple, green and pink trails this afternoon. The trails were better than last weekend but they still have plenty of debris that keeps my "B skis" happy and my "A skis" at home in the basement. Gotta keep skiing!

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Very good for classic skiing.
We went Friday night in the dark with our headlamps. There was about 1 1/2 " of new light snow, which covered most of the pine needles and debris. Skiing was effortless. A magical night at "Nordic Heaven", for sure!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Classic tracks are in good condition. A little icy because of the cold. Skating track was very good and just groomed this afternoon.
I classic skied Greenbush this afternoon and the classic tracks were good. As I was skiing the groomer came by and groomed the skating tracks. I would rate most of the trail system as very good with a few small areas as fair.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: A little fluff Tuesday night covered a lot of the leaves, but they keep on dropping. Good cover. Cold wind.
All loops are definitely skiable (and so is the bisecting snowmobile trail).

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Greenbush showing wear and tear. Getting debris and ice in classic track, but still skiable. Downhills becoming icy. Couple of inches would help.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Best conditions that I have seen this year.
I skied the purple, green and the red trails Saturday morning. They all had very good snow cover with no icy spots. The first part of the green trail was super fast. Lots of skiers out there.
