Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Strided purple trail on fat backcountry wax less skis from 2 to 4pm today. Track was well set by groomers but bare spots now make it problematic. Far right of the corduroy was best for striding. Good snow coverage for skate deck but problem areas starting to show up. Both power line cuts and the long hill at the back of the purple still passable if careful. South facing downhills glazed at 4pm as refreeze set in. Packed powder, firm in the afternoon, is the dominant snow texture. I'd expect it to be worthwhile for a while. Sandhill cranes loud. Thank you grooming crew!

Good coverage from the recent 6" wet snow. Some bare spots easy avoided. Purple, red, brown all groomed. Classic tracks have many bare spots.

Fantastic! Skate skied on the Brown, Purple and Red - all were in great shape and staying firm into the afternoon. 100% coverage on all trails. Green had not been groomed for either skate or classic, but it looked like somebody did some back country skiing there and laid down a track. Some of the best conditions of the season at Greenbush right now. For skating, good skis are okay.

I skied the purple, red, and pink trails this morning. The green trail had not been groomed. The ski track was soft in some sections but solid in others. There is a classic track set on the purple, red, and brown trails. The classic track was bare in some spots and excellent in others. There is a bit of ice in a couple of areas but it is easy to ski around. Some debris in the pines, but not too bad. The sandhill cranes are back, a reminder that we don't have much more time to ski. Get out and enjoy!

Trail system is in very good shape with the purple and brown loops groomed and tracked. There is some debris in the tracks so classic skiers may want to use their B skis. Very pleasantly surprised given the almost total lack of snow in Milwaukee.

Classic skied purple loop. Full snow coverage. Just a very few leaf spots to step over. Cloudy here as well, so no sun damage as of 3.30pm. Very good classic tracks.

Observation
Greenbush has been rolled and a track laid. Appears it was done last night with a little fresh snow on top.

[ Trails Open: Partial ]
Talked with our groomer Terry who just finished up: Brown Trail (lighted), and the campground cutoff road have been run over with the groomer (no track), as well as flat practice loops near base of sledding hill. Some ice spots and some small bare spots. He attempted to groom out from the junction up at the sledding hill to the picnic area bathrooms (Purple) with no luck and turned around. Back to rock skis. Remainder of the Greenbush trails had a lot of pooling water yesterday and many dirty/bare areas.

Best night of the year at Greenbush - skied a couple of greens with the HS team tonight and it was really great - fast, flat, and fun! Some leaves, light debris, and a couple of small ice/dirt spots, but very minimal. Could have used A skis, but with chasing around the kids, I went with my second best.
Please be courteous and preserve the trail conditions by staying off during the warmup Wednesday and Thursday. We anticipate that the WDNR will close the trails and post signs at the trailhead. Come back on Friday when we plan to have fresh grooming.
