Great conditions on the manmade snow loops for the Wednesday Night Race Series. Well groomed skate deck made for fast but controllable skiing, despite the high winds. Striding trails were reported to have both grip and glide. Deep base on 1.7 km of lighted trail, groomed daily. Come out Saturday for the Lapham Loppet!

The manmade snow loops are in primo condition. Skate lanes have a layer of natural snow today. Stride tracks are are little less defined due to the new snow, but provide a more traditional experience on natural snow. Additional manmade snow created on Friday has been spread and groomed, improving the Nordic Playground, the high point at Summerstage Hill, and the up and back on Magic Carpet.

Best ski conditions of season. 3" new fluffy on the hard 3' base made for good edging with no icy spots. It was ungroomed but the skiers packed it so the glide was very good. 24 degrees made for pleasent skiing. The climb up to the cutoff was open and made wider and the ski down on magic carpet was smooth and fast on the soft fresh snow. More snow was falling as we left.

What a difference a day makes. Good skiing conditions for skate and stride on the manmade snow loops - but - totally different from Saturday. Most of the trail has a several inch layer of corn snow, with a few spots where it has been scraped off to an icy base. Striding tracks looked good. Many skiers were, once again, taking advantage of the only skiable snow this season in southeast Wisconsin, funded by your donations. Thank You!

Parking lot full at 2pm and had to wait. 80% had plenty of sugar tilled from the tiller and provided good edging. Had to be careful at a few bare stops. It was fast and enjoyable. for.

Fresh groomed trails under a beautiful blue sky - what more could you ask for? The snowmaking loops have been tilled and groomed for skate and stride. Great conditions. The pics tell the story.

Gritted out 4 miles today on part of the man made. It was super soft in spots, pitted, and dirty. Understandable given the warmth. Only option was do do the magic carpet over and over. The loop is unskiable. Guy at gate said they will be grooming all night but won't be able to make snow till this weekend.

Started 10:30am at 32F degrees and skate lanes had nice glide and good edging. The sharp right climb was icy due to the scraping at the turn but not a problem. At 2pm and it was 37F degrees with good skiing and only slight slower in the sunny areas. So much fun I did over 25k.
The longest loop up to the cutoff and back on the magic carpet is 1.5 k by gps. The lower main loop is 1.0 k.

Great conditions on the snowmaking loops this morning. Fresh corduroy, firm and smooth across the whole trail, made for effortless skating. No signs of ice underneath. Double striding track set on Sunday night is still in place - firm, but looking a little glazed. Best skiing is in the morning. Pics are from before the crowd arrived. Very busy when I left at 9:30.

The snowmaking loops were groomed overnight, leaving a firm, smooth corduroy surface that skied very nicely. Two new sets of classic tracks were also set.
