Great conditions considering the meltdown and freeze the last few days that formed ice. Groomers did outstanding job, big thanks to them. Happy and safe new year!

Surprisingly, very good conditions this morning. Full coverage on a fully covered skate deck. Very few "ice pond" areas, which are easily navigatable. Classic tracks well formed. Practically no debris on the trail. All manmade loop open.

The groomer reported good conditions and it was enjoyable. The few thin areas were easy to avoid. The bottom of the magic carpet was icy on the left so I needed to stay at the right to avoid. The skate deck was a little mushy but still OK.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Get it while you can. The man made snow loop lives again. The Piston Bully was out Friday night grooming the trail after an epic melt down. The worst areas were filled in and leveled. The skate deck was tilled and is in good condition with a few thin areas. New classic track was set and is in good condition. Don't know what the next few days will bring weather wise so ski it while you can. The good, the bad and the ugly.

[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures, grooming is not possible for the time being. Unfortunately, conditions are poor and areas on the man made loops are already thin.

Fair conditions for skate and stride on the manmade loops. Firm base that is softening a bit through the day. Many areas with debris. Some rutting in the skate deck. Striding tracks are a bit icy. However, there are some good spots, and there is plenty of manmade snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The man-made snow loops were groomed Wednesday night with the Ginzu. Tracks were left in place. The skate deck groomed out very nicely despite the warm temperatures. Lights will be on every day except for Sundays throughout the season.

The 1.1 mile man-made snow loop was in good condition with a wide skate deck with loose snow on top a hard base. Many skiers also were enjoying the tracks. We arrived at 10am at 33 degrees and left at noon at 40 degrees and the skìing was still good. Thanks to the snowmaking volunteers and piston bully groomers.

Excellent conditions this morning. Some of the unevenness on the skate deck of earlier this week has been smoothed out. Parking lot full when we left.

Grooming

Andrew Straka and I had the Pisten Bully out late evening and early this morning. Mark and I are training Andrew, he will also be operating the Pisten Bully going forward. We tilled the skate deck and reset tracks on the entire man-made snow trail system. The DNR is still unable to groom off the man-made. Again, grooming with our sweet Pisten Bully, the trails are looking beautiful as we leave the park.
