Main loop and Bardon loop groomed today at Magney. Skate deck and classic tracks turned out well with minimal debris on the trail. Really great spring skiing. Get out and enjoy.

We arrived as the groomer was putting the big machine back onto the truck! One other person pulled up at the same time and was pleasantly surprised at his timing. We skied the main loop, Bardon's and the connector to Spirit. Bardon's has two of the bigger hills with open "surprises" partway down so use caution. The only other part that would be dangerous is if you decided to ski Spirit, which is ok but not freshly groomed, and came down the first big hill...you can't see the open stuff until you are upon it and with the speed you'd be at, well, good luck! Ely's Peak is still skiable, they are not grooming it anymore because the road is plowed, you would have to walk across the road. Today is the day to get out and enjoy Magney, it's pretty darn good!

Spring skiing can be just amazing! After last week's wonderful grooming, I had to head back to Magney finding that the conditions did change quite after Saturday's warm weather. The trail is a bit dirty from melting and debri, but has 100% coverage and was still gorgeous, fun and flat (no ruts). One more sunny day and a couple barespots will be forming on the south facing hills (Bardon's Peak in particular was thin). A plow went through across Skyline, so be ready to take your skiis off a couple of times to complete Ely's peak loop. I would recommend "b" skis within the next couple of days due to the dirty snow, but otherwise, absolutely worth the trip!

Trails groomed on Friday morning, resulting in excellent conditions, both skate and classic. Classics are well put in. At 1 pm, the temp was 30. Snow fantastic. Good coverage everywhere, but didn't do the back loop.

Magney was groomed up Thursday or Friday and was in great condition today. Thanks Duluth, for keeping the grooming going and for clearing branches. The parking lot was packed! I hope it will be tilled a few more times this month as the base is deep and we can almost certainly ski until April!

Skied every k of Magney and it was fantastic. Looks like the trail was groomed yesterday night or this morning. Soft deck on some of the loops off the main trail but that was mostly a temperature thing. Wet slow snow but it was beautiful and sped up after the sun went lower in the sky. Did the connector to Spirit Mtn trails and those were also good. Maybe the Spirit Mtn trails were skied in a bit more but not groomed as recently in most sections. Still quite nice. Overall a fantastic, well maintained set of trails!

It was great to get back to ski Magney this afternoon. The tracks were in good shape with a little snow on top of the recent grooming. Magney has a nice flow to the trails with a variety of hills and scenic vistas! With sunshine and little wind, we were actually warm at 8 degrees!

Trails were recently groomed and are in really good condition, firm without being too hard-packed. I skied the outside loops (Bardon and Ely's peak trails) and only came across a few easily avoidable thin spots. Connect over to Spirit for a great longer ski on (almost) perfect snow with the best hills in town!
