Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Magney Park groomed. Good conditions overall. The first stretch turned out a little rough but the loops are in better shape. Ice persists on the Bardon loop and a smaller patch on the first skyline crossing on the Ely loop.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Beautiful sunny day to get out and ski. Trails were freshly groomed for
both classical and skate and were in excellent condition. Skied the main loop.
Would be nice to have a little more snow though.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Magney groomed today with a new classic track all around. With the warm weather there are definitely a few more dirt spots than there were last week along with a few ice spots that have popped up. There is a good size ice patch on the Bardon loop, and another on the Ely loop at the first crossing of skyline.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Magney was recently groomed, but there was a bike race there after the grooming, and the racers created wheel ruts in some spots and walked up some of the hills, turning some of the steep hills into pretty bad mashed potatoes. Also someone drove a snowmobile through most of the system. Still, overall it was quite skatable. There are a few dirty patches.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails at Magney got groomed a few days ago. Since then, the trails have received 3 inches of new snow. So the tracks were skied in alright, but there was still a lot of powder out there today. Most of the dirt spots got covered with the new powder. I think you should still take the B skis, because the few dirt spots and rocks that were exposed a few days ago are barely covered now. But only a handful of small spots.

Best terrain in Duluth. Classic tracks excellent. Go get your long ski in at Spirit and Magney. Hard track set up nice.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Magney groomed, tracks set. All trails are in good shape. Use caution as some areas have an icy layer under this new snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Snow coverage was good but there were a few spots with soil and rocks peeping through; these are a limited issue if skiing during the day but could possibly a problem if night skiing. The base of the ski deck was firm but it hadn't been recently groomed. No classic track had been set.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Magney will be rolled later today. Need to build up more of a base at Magney to avoid damage to grooming equipment. Other Duluth trails have been groomed.

Night
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
Attempted to ski Wednesday night. Trail had over 9" of fresh snow on the ground, but was not groomed or rolled. For the moment it's good for classic only, wide skis. Expect rocks as there's an inconsistent base. A rolling is badly needed.
