Eight inches of dry snow in our region. Due to intense cold, we will plan to groom again on Thursday.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Three inches of fresh snow, overall conditions are very good. Groomed the Ridge and West trails with wide cord for skaters and enough snow to set nice parallel tracks. North and South Loops have good skier set tracks. The Pine trail now has tracks. Still a few dirt spots here and there.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Two inches of fresh snow on top of old base. The Ridge and West trails were skateable but slow in the fresh powder. Nothing groomed since last night's dusting of snow but still worth skiing. Nobody on the trails when I arrived. There were a few traditional skiers just starting when I left around noon.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Mostly good, but variable conditions at Coulee with 4 to 6 inches of new snow. An icy base has survived on about 80% of the system. Skating is good on the Ridge trail and West trail, but expect dirt spots. Some re-routing on the upper West trail. The South and North Loops were groomed to repair damage from sun, rain and footprints, attempts to set tracks were abandoned with snow thin in spots, and under pines.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Coulee received about 3 inches new snow from yesterday's storm. Today the Ridge trail and the West trail were groomed for skating, I also groomed the Oak trail, which had damage from horses, and it is groomed for skating. The skate trails should harden well tonight. There was not enough snow to set tracks. The South and North Loops were left as is, skiers reported them as good to fair. There is dirt, sticks and rocks to avoid. The boilerplate base is still intact for 99% of the trail system.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Still good coverage at Coulee, we survived the thaw. The snowpack is condensed and there is a good crust in the open fields which could be skate skied. There are a few areas of sun-burn on the trails, easy to step over. There isn't much we can do with ski tracks; Classic skiing on the South Loop and North Loop are icy, hard and not recommended. The West Trail has some logger activity and bare spots, and is icy. We groomed the Ridge Trail today, the main skating trail, and could scratch up a fast, icy deck with a few dirt spots. B skis advised. The Ridge Trail is 5 miles out and back.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skating trails were groomed and combed this morning. Skate trails have good coverage, with a few spots of dirt. We decided to leave the classic trails intact as they are still in good shape but expect needles and leaves. With warm temperatures and debris in the tracks, no wax skis might be a good choice. We have been getting skiers from all over the State with our good snow depth. Thank you Kevin the DNR Forester who brought out the quad track for today's grooming, our regular snowmobile is in the shop (see fundraiser).

Wonderful ski on deep snow 6" base on good but kinda sticky corn. Skated and strided with wide classics with light blue kick. Great "sleeper" ski.

Good coverage. A few sticks poking through. Lots of pine needles and small branches on trails in places. Grooming a bit rough from lots of use on Saturday.
