Classic tracks and skate deck were all set this morning. All of the lakes, the spur trail and across 394. I set tracks where I could and tried to get rid of any post holing and fatbike tracks. Tunnel to Brownie is ice, so be careful. Not too many rocks in that area yet.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
My brother, Eric Leugers and myself, did our first volunteer grooming of the Chain of Lakes trails. With the expert guidance of Craig Jarvinen we made double passes of all the lakes and the spur trail near the Cedar bicycle trails. The snow did not adhere to the ice so I would be very careful if you are trying to skate. We were not able to set classic tracks, not enough snow yet.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
Ice not safe. No grooming under these conditions. There are also lots of twigs and branches down from the high winds and many bare spots from the melt. All natural snow trails are closed due to ice and many bare ground. Skiing natural snow trails NOT advised. Trails closed.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
We attempted to groom Brownie lake but immediately bogged down slush. Brownie lake trail has been groom from 394 down to the lake for skate only. No other grooming attempts have been made on other trail segments. Cedar (including Cedar Lake Park), Lake of the Isles, and Lake Calhoun---all not groomed until the ice is safe for vehicles. Skiing on the lakes is not recommended at this time.
