Attempted to ski Tuesday afternoon and found conditions unacceptably poor. Trails where not closed during rain event and a skier had left deep trenches randomly on the trail. Disappointed trails were not closed during warm weather to preserve snow.

Not skiable today. Icy trails, does not appear to have been groomed since the rain. Lots of debris on the ice. I skied 2k and went home.

Stopped by this morning. Trail is slushy and not skiable but it seems the snow survived the rain. Cold temps may revive the track if the groomer can scratch it up!

Still full coverage here. Most of the trails were crusty and a little tough to get good push-off. There were several soft spots due to the warmth. Near Stute Springs, in the low-lying areas, it was very soft and saturated snow. Also very thin coverage there - I hope the trails survive the weekend. Still great coverage on the hills and the entire blue loop. No rocks poking through, just several sticks scattered. Today there were some hiker footprints from Stute Springs for about a mile on blue. Disappointing since they'll likely freeze in. Ugh.

On the purple loop conditions were well groomed for skate except a little icy from freezing rain. Classic tracks had a couple of inches of snow in them.

Skated the blue trail about 3:00pm. The 3 or so inches of new snow were being groomed while we were there. Excellent ski even on the areas that had not been groomed yet. Another inch or so had fallen while we skied.

Grooming [ Trails Open: All, ]

We have received 5-6" of fresh snow and anticipate more snow before this event ends. Our groomers attempted to pack the trail this morning but the snow has not bonded to the ice underneath and the equipment kept sliding off the trail which can be dangerous when working on trails with steep inclines/declines adjacent to deep kettles. We are going to allow the snow to set up and will make another attempt to groom the McMiller system tomorrow.

Grooming [ Trails Open: All, ]

It has been actively sleeting or raining all day today. Trail conditions are deteriorating and you should expect ice on all trails and standing/ponding water in the low areas. Rangers will head out Saturday to clear trails of downed limbs and hope we get enough new snow to groom Sunday night.

Entire system re-groomed this morning. Fresh corduroy and nice tracks. Great coverage! It was a bit slower than yesterday as the temps had gotten above freezing early. It is cloudy and a bit of fog so not a lot of melting. Beautiful trails!
