Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomers Vicki and Randy Larson report in that the trails at Spooner's College Street Park were groomed. The area received about 8 inches of new snow on Monday. The soccer field loop was not groomed due to deep drifts. You can still access the ski trail at the high school trailhead. Just walk up the bike trail to the first light pole. Lights are on until 9 pm each evening and the new warming house is open...have fun!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Good to very good conditions can be found at Spooner's College Street Park. The skate trail is level with plenty of coverage. The classic trail is firm and offers good control. There are some thin spots in the track, so probably B skis for stride but A skis for skating. Lights are on until 9 pm. Bundle up and have fun.

Fair to good conditions - firm deck - but a little uneven and lumpy. Some debris but not bad. I skied every loop and they were all in similar shape.

Classic skied the full system this afternoon. Track was firm and full depth almost everywhere, and skate conditions looked good too. Some leaves and debris on the north loop between the park and the high school.

Skated the bulk of the trail system and found the skate deck to be near perfect. A few leaves on the trail in the woods, otherwise plenty of snow and the skate deck was firm. Classic tracks looked full depth. Only saw one other skier.

The skate trails are level, provide good coverage, and are in very good shape. The classic track is deep and firm with a just a couple of thin spots, some windblown and washed out areas exist as well. A few kilometers of the trails will be lighted for the season until 9 pm each evening. In addition, stay warm after your ski as there is a brand new warming house built for Nordic skiers, hockey, and recreational skaters! Have fun!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
The Spooner area received about five inches of snow this past Monday and Tuesday. After the snow, the trails at the College Street Park were groomed for skating. There wasn't enough snow to set a classic track. Since the time of the pictures, we have received another inch or two of new snow. The trails have some debris and are soft in areas. For early season, the trails are in good shape...enjoy!
