Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base, 18 inches with new snow 5 inches. Entire system compacted Friday after our first snowfall of the season that contained an average amount of moisture, allowing for excellent grooming. Jim and Charlie set all new classic tracks and skate lanes were groomed, but not to full width -- in anticipation of the next storm system. Snow has set-up very well so skate lanes will be firm and classic tracks are clean and nicely cut. Best ski conditions so far this season!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base 18 inches, with new snow of 13 inches over the two snow events. All trails in the system rolled and compacted twice, followed up by a Pisten Bully till. New classic tracks have been set with a single pass for skate lanes on the entire system. This latest storm has enabled us to do some conditioning work that had not been possible due to thin snow in places. Expect another final groom late Friday. Ski conditions are excellent!

Super fine at Pincushion this afternoon! Recent grooming with very good to excellent tracks along with a manicured skate deck. There were a few spots with a little crust, but overall great conditions. It's always a treat to experience Pincushion with all of it's hills and beautiful scenery!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Grooming team: Base 10 inches with no additional new snow. All trails in the Pincushion System have been Pisten Bully groomed over the past two days, with clean-up of a few spots yet today. All classic tracks have been reset and the skate deck is as smooth as it has been all winter. Temperatures are moderating just a bit, so this should be one of the best ski weekends of the winter. Enjoy the trails!

Excellent tracks and skate deck very good. Was sunny and 9 degrees. We classic skied all the blue and green trails. Out first time skiing here. Very nice trail system and excellent grooming. Really thought the canyon curves was a pretty trail. Definitely an intermediate trail. Was nice to have a warming building to take a break.

I skied pincushion loop and the snowman+west overlook loops. 1/2" of snow covering well groomed trail, but slightly soft and windblown in spots. So it was not super fast, but still good. Today was my first day skiing at pincushion. I have hiked the superior hiking trail/pincushion in the summer multiple times, but skiing there was easily more exhilarating than any of those hikes. The Pincushion loop is very memorable with views of devil's track canyon, pincushion, and the sawtooths next to the lake south of Grand Marais.

Good classic skiing despite the temps. All the trails at Pincushion have been recently groomed except for the Pincushion mountain loop. Packed powder conditions, and classic is probably your best bet until slightly warmer temperatures. Don't let the wind in the parking lot discourage you, as trails are quite sheltered once you get into the woods.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base: 6-8 inches, New Snow: Less than 1 inch. All trails have been Pisten Bully tilled and compacted. Both classic tracks and skate lanes are in very good condition. We came through a day or so of warmer weather with virtually no change in conditions. The skiing is very good.
