Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
As of 11 AM, skating track was refurbished with two passes, 12 feet wide, on Stadium, East Overlook, West Overlook, Lower and Upper Snowman. Conditions for skating on these loops are good, but some rocks are visible, so ski with care. One pass, 7 feet wide, was made on the skating lane of Pincushion Loop. Conditions on lower Pincushion are fair to poor. Rock skis are advised and use caution. Classic tracks are well formed, but icy and many exposed rocks and dirt patches. Current Trail Conditions/Notes: Packed Trail, Base: Average 1-3", Snowfall last 24 Hours: 0", Snowfall last 7 Days: 1-2", Average Depth off the Trail: 6".

Observation
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Due to the warming temps today and over the weekend we are not doing the pre-weekend groom at Pincushion. Recommend staying off the trails when temps are well above freezing to avoid damage to the thin early season base. Current Trail Conditions/Notes: Packed Trail Base: Average 2-3", Snowfall last 24 Hours: 0", Snowfall last 7 Days: 1-2", Average Depth off the Trail: 6-8".

Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Great snow cover. A few patches where vegetative stubble is visible and a few seeps that have frozen over. Very nice classic tracks and the skate tracks looked very good as well. Great early season skiing.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the entire system and truly, it is quite remarkable for this time of year, not just the snow depths but the fact they have the entire system groomed (not just rolled). Tracks set on all but a portion of the black(?) Fantastic job! A bit uneven and obviously a bit soft. Some debris kicked up on maybe 0.5% of the trail. No photos but imagine mid Jan conditions. ( Note: I did not use good skis but could have done so.).

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
All Green trails (East and West Overlook, Lower and Upper Snowman, B&B Loop) have been groomed and tracked. All other trails have been packed and rolled. Grooming will continue over coming days to groom and set tracks after the recent snowfall, approximately 18-24 in. Cold temperatures over the weekend will help to set up the trails for a firm base.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Very good snow cover over most of the trail although there are a few spots where spring fed areas are still melting through, as pictured. Snowmobiles were parked out with groomers attached, so grooming tonight?

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
I skied Pincushion Mountain Loop. I had a fun ski with fish scales. Understandably a little soft on top because of 1 1/2" of new fluff after they had rolled it. I stayed on top without punching through, so had a smooth glide. I did not encounter any bare spots or hit any rocks, so good cover. I only put B skis because they are still grooming and no track set.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Base prep rolling done overnight on Stadium, East and West Overlook, Pincushion Loop and Lower Snowman. Skiers are welcome but need to understand that this is the first of three steps to actual grooming. Groomers will be out during the day tomorrow, so stay alert for their presence. There is approximately 15 inches of snow and still coming down on Wednesday night. The rolled base is 6-8 inches. All signs point to excellent skiing conditions for the weekend.
