Night
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
A half an inch of new snow over a nicely groomed skate deck. Trails now have good coverage. The new snow was skied in fairly well. It made for enjoyable skating with good edge control. There are no classic trails groomed yet. I am recommending B skis because prior to the new snow were a few thin areas and there was also some debris on the trail.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The woods and school areas were groomed on Saturday. No tracks yet, we will need more snow for tracks and to groom the fields. The new parts on the Tidd Tech worked great, setting a nice corduroy and the side wings really help with the overlap between two passes. With the cool night and warming Sunday, things should be in great condition.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
The entire system was rolled this evening.  The goal of the first grooming of the year is to start building as flat and wide of a deck and that worked well with the 6" of snow we got yesterday.  No tracks yet. With dropping temps, things should firm up nicely for skiing on Thursday.  I would recommend starting out on your rock skis, definitely leave the new ones you flew to Europe to hand pick at the factory at home.  While the fields got rolled, they are going to need a fair bit more snow before being ready to ski.  It looks like we only have the east field, Jerome's, to ski on this year as the corn is still on the west one.  We can ski to it on the normal trail and it will be a nice wind block for that section. I plan to fire up the lights on Thursday night, so come on out and ski.
