Nose Lake was a hub of activity on Sunday and Monday, and the trail was well worn. Because of that it received new classic tracks this evening. The tracks were deep, and with the sub 32 temperatures tonight, they should firm up nicely for tomorrow.

The trail was retracked this morning. The tracks set up fairly deep. Again with the colder morning temps, they should set up nicely.

The groomer's report persuaded us to try this trail for the final ski of our North Woods excursion. The grooming was excellent, with many interesting wildlife tracks. This is a narrow, single-track, classic trail, much like ones I recall from 40 years ago. We did the east loop, which has many gentle curves and hills; I would call it "easy+". We really appreciate the groomers' reports - after all, they are the first to know when a trail has been groomed!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail was packed with new track set, and it is ready to go. The new tracks are nice and deep, and with the cold temperatures should hold up nicely for weekend use.

Really good conditions. Some pine needles in a few areas, but nothing to be concerned about. The groomers have done a great job as usual.

The trail tracked very nicely this morning. The new tracks are deeper, with little leafy, woody debris. There are intermittent stretches especially under the conifers were the track has got some litter.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The trail got ripped up today and new tracks were put down. However due to the weekend's weather the trail is littered with lots of leafy debris and twigs. The new tracks are not very deep, and rock skis would be the best option. Things should improve once we get more snow.

The trail was groomed today. We were able to lay a track, however there is vegetation still poking through. Rock skis are still be recommended.

We took the compaction drag to the trail this morning. The fluffy snow again compacted down to 2 inches. No tracks were set. There is still a lot of vegetation poking through the snow, especially on the west loop. The east loop not so much. The trail is skiable, but again rock skis would be the best.
