Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Nothing groomed as of 10:00 AM. Skied classic trail on north side set by other skiers. A good workout in perfect weather.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Golf course trail is skiable but wind blown and in some areas it's difficult to see what's been groomed. Follow Detour around logging areas. If you have the time to travel, Zilmer was wonderful yesterday.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Rock skis ]
I skied the classic tracks on the north side of the park, which turned out to be more challenging than expected, and I quit after one loop. They tracks are icy, as expected, but also, planting poles was always unpredictable and the L/R tracks varied in height relative to each other, so balance was harder. Where the tracks are close to the road in several places, the plowed snow is piled over the tracks, but skiers have made a shallow, if uneven, track. The trail through the woods north from the parking lot had a lot of tree debris. I would suggest driving elsewhere if possible, until it can be groomed again.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Soft snow on the north side of the golf course with a short area without snow to cross where arborists have been accessing the park. In the middle and south and west parts of the golf course, the trail is firm and wide. No classic tracks on golf course, but I saw classic skiers in the wooded area. More grooming underway as I left at 7:15am. Great job by the Milwaukee county parks crew! Please try to stay off the trail later in the day if above freezing conditions.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomer went around and rolled. With the snowball snow the staff did a great job going around. There is classic on both sides of the road. Some tricky areas with skimobile tracks and poles go thru but hey, good skating and skiing!

Afternoon
Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
Golf course is not skiable after the rain and sleet. Many open areas. Soft snow in woods with fair coverage- classic skiing looks possible.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trail conditions are packed and much more solid then Friday conditions. Grooming has been done and done very well, but due to the wind there are some small twigs and pine needles on trail. Enjoy!

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle Lost/Found
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions adequate. Deck not hard yet. Needs to be compressed and smoothed out. With some grooming though, could be a great to excellent conditions this weekend. And someone left a pair of Salomon skate skis stuck in the snow bank lining the parking area; probably a women's or youth pair of skis.

Woot to more grooming... thanks! That would help compact it more and last longer. Today is still good, though a bit squishy. Poles do poke through to the asphalt about half the time. So thankfully for this awesome skate track at Brown Deer Park!

Classic trail is in excellent condition, though tracks are a bit shallow. Great grip and glide. If you are waxing, green is the wax of the day.
