[ Good skis ]
After skiing the last two days with backcountry skis to pack down drifting, a few others have skied on my tracks and today it was quite nice with RCS racing skis as none of the tracks filled in. Leaves are drifting in but with double tracks you can avoid them.

[ Good skis ]
Got to high cliff at 4:40pm. No work had been done on the trails (no packing or track setting). I was the first one on trail after the snow stopped. Evidence of snowshoer on middle of trail but this must have been earlier as tracks were mostly snowed/drifted in. Slow deep snow but still fun. I made a decently flat skier-made track out and back. Just before I got back to the lot, ran into another skier with a headlight. The short time I was the third tracks (instead of first on the way out and second on the way back) made the glide much better. Back to parking lot at 5:40 pm...just about "civil dusk" as I could still barely see. Also, hopefully they will plow the park roads -- they were not plowed yesterday (no problem for All Wheel Drive with 4 newish snow tires but hill would have been a challenge without).

[ Rock skis ]
We were hoping for enough icy base and perhaps 2" of fresh snow to make it ski-able. Unfortunately, not enough base to cover rocks, roots, etc. and what base there was had had enough foot traffic prior to freezing that it was not smooth. Almost fell on the one downhill due to rock stopping one ski. Not worth the 10 minute drive. The volunteers have done a great job there this year with almost nothing to work with, but until they get more snow don't bother.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Classic trails on the top: 4-6 inches in the woods, 6-8 in the fields. Groomed in the woods -- thin cover, rocks in places, but quite skiable. Mostly groomed in the fields -- an excellent snow cover -- no issues. Sorry, I don't have any information about conditions on skating trail. Equestrian/mtn-bike trails in the fields: sufficient/excellent snow coverage but you need to break your own trail -- lots of fun. A great opportunity, as snowmobilers are still asleep.
