Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
With yesterday's warm temperature the snow on the evergreens fell off the branches and onto the trail where it froze last night and today. The tracks also iced up so I groomed this evening. The trail was quite hard but I was able to smooth out the clumps from the evergreens and set new tracks that would not be icy. The tracks don't look as nice as when we have new snow but for the most part they are full depth and should be fine for skiing. Conditions should be good to very good. I would like to ask skiers to please report people who are walking on the trail to the F&G club. Happy New Year to all.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
During and since our last weather event we have gone over the trail three times, the last being this afternoon when we leveled and tracked the trails again. Skiing this morning prior to grooming this afternoon was darn good so I suspect tomorrow will be mighty fine. Use your good skis for sure.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The East Side Trails have been leveled and tracked and are in very good early season condition. I have skied them several times with B skis and found they are in good shape. Much of the West Side trail is in decent shape. In most places we were able to set a good track. Since we use different equipment for low snow conditions we are not able to lift the tracker on hills and curves. This will make negotiating the steep hills difficult so it is suggested to not to ski down them. There could be a few rocks in certain areas so don't take your best skis if you have others. I picked up a few while skiing this morning so there are not a lot, but likely a few.

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The East Side trails are in pretty good shape. They were dragged and tracked this morning. There is a bit of grass showing and some leaves may be visible in the bottom of the track. Overall the East Side trails are very skiable and in better shape than I would have thought. I also skied a portion of the West Side trails and they were also skiable although not leveled or tracked by machine. The trails were dragged before Thanksgiving so the base, while thin, is hard. Grooming plans: The next time we get a couple of inches of snow I will drag the trails to level them and will set a track.
