Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions with the new 3" of snow. With the falling temps the deck and track set up really nice. We have a smooth deck and deep track set through out the system. Expect some drifting in the open areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Due to the recent thaw the deck and tracks were tore up. The trail is combed and a little on the chunky side. The track was reset and skiable.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Excellent recent grooming with deep classic tracks and firm skating deck. However, 2 inches of new snow by the time we finished changes rating. There were no obvious ill effects from the recent warming, so trail should be great again after regrooming.

The trails were perfectly groomed. We skied it on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. I did the first loop, the connector to the lollipop. My husband did that and the other loops, all in excellent condition!

Happy to report, the snow is in Conover! This trail system, which has nearly infinite potential, is throroughly covered in fluffy powder, 8 inches worth, with a hard base. Bring your best wax job, and get ready to marathon, on these gentle, but technical, loops. Heated, flush toilets, and proximity to US 45, are both additional incentives.

As of this moment, trails are rolled, and skiers are breaking their own trail, but there are no rocks, and about six inches packed on the trail, and things may improve quickly, as snow is expected later this weekend. This very pleasant classic-only system, is notable for it's conveniences...only a few hundred yards from a main US Highway, with heated flush toilet restrooms, and a generous and well-maintained parking area. The trail itself is almost entirely in pine lands, so there will be no "Oak Leaf Clusters" here! Not extremely hilly, but very scenic, and soon to be expanded to over 20 miles, this system belongs on anybody's list, if only for it's accessibility.
