Classic skied the Deeryard Loop for the first time this winter. Snow was nice and fresh grooming after yesterday's 3 inches of snow was nice. Trails were only single tracked (usually 2 tracks) and neither the fire tower or the short loop had been groomed since the new snow but both were skier tracked. Tracks on the loop were well formed up to the junction with the pioneer loop, but quite shallow on the 2.3k east side of the loop. The west side (next to the lake) has lots of tall brush and stubble growing thru trail and tracks which looks like it will be a problem until there is much more snow or they are trimmed back snow level. There are 2 water berms on the west side that should be skied around as the gully created is about a foot deep and 18 inches wide. Glide was good in spite of the cold and the snow laden trees are beautiful as was the sunset from the fire tower hilltop.
