A couple of good loops, although it seems to get more wind-blown than other metro trails. New in 2013, 5K snowmaking loop.Trail Reports

It was a fast, fun ski at Hyland this morning in the classic tracks! The downhills were pretty exciting! It looks like tomorrow is the last morning for grooming, and the 5K will be closed starting Monday. We had a lot of great skis on the 5k this season. We're really fortunate to have three snowmaking parks in the metro to extend our seasons.

My wife classic skied the North Star loop and reported good track conditions. I skated the manufactured loop and found it better than yesterday. Heart break hill had a fresh covering of groomed snow and the wall was excellent. I think we could have made it to April this year.

March madness continues. Manufactured snow in great shape. The hill going north from Jan's place (I like to call it heart break hill) has thin snow coverage, so I would recommend skiing north of this area. Boulder Ridge (the wall) was in great shape. Firm base with an inch of loose snow on top. Yes, the parking lot was full at 9am.

Started skiing around 9am ...striding on new Atomic skintecs. Freshly groomed once again, tracks were deep and solid and skate deck looked very good. Spring skiing at its finest...the best in a long time. The skin skis rocked! Cannot believe how the bite and glide on an icy track. Thanks so much to the Highland groomers and staff for excellent care!

Classic skiing at Hyland yesterday and this afternoon was good with my skintecs. The track was soft and the steep descent from the wall was difficult but my kick was very good. I'll be back tomorrow afternoon. The skating looked slow in the afternoon.
