March madness continues. Manufactured snow in great shape. The hill going north from Jan's place (I like to call it heart break hill) has thin snow coverage, so I would recommend skiing north of this area. Boulder Ridge (the wall) was in great shape. Firm base with an inch of loose snow on top. Yes, the parking lot was full at 9am.

Hyland is still grooming every day, and I had a fun ski on the the 5K. I went in the afternoon, so it was a little slow. The tracks were in good shape in the woods, and a little slushy and icy in the open areas. It was still good to be out skiing in late March!

Started skiing around 9am ...striding on new Atomic skintecs. Freshly groomed once again, tracks were deep and solid and skate deck looked very good. Spring skiing at its finest...the best in a long time. The skin skis rocked! Cannot believe how the bite and glide on an icy track. Thanks so much to the Highland groomers and staff for excellent care!

Our string of well below freezing mornings, and perfect grooming, continues! The 5K loop is holding us quite well for both skating and classic, feels like January to me.

Classic skiing at Hyland yesterday and this afternoon was good with my skintecs. The track was soft and the steep descent from the wall was difficult but my kick was very good. I'll be back tomorrow afternoon. The skating looked slow in the afternoon.

Skate deck on man made loop was a mess this afternoon. New snow mixed with mashed potato snow is almost unskiable. Classic track okay, good for a double pole workout. For the adventuresome the natural trails were great for skating (great for this time of year...use B or rock skis).

Hyland was beautiful this morning with the light falling snow. Tracks were just barely covered. Very firm and consistent conditions for my Skins. I did not herringbone one hill. Didn't climb Boulder. What a treat to be skiing on the first day of Spring. Skaters said it was a little slow. Thanks Hyland for staying open and giving us such a great season of grooming.

Still tons o' snow and excellent grooming on the 5K man-made snow loop on this first day of spring! Only one small dirty snow patch on the whole loop. Slower than usual snow, but I think it was due to me using the exact wrong wax. Pretty darn nice to be skiing in in the spring!

At 9am a little icy in the shade but good in the sun. Boulder Ridge was great. Manufactured snow trails are the only trails opened. Some dirt beginning to show through on the first long climb hill from the visitor center.

Thank you groomers for all you do! Skate skied 8-9:15 am icy corduroy at 8 am softened up by 9 am. Only skied the bottom half but maybe could have done more. Apprehensive of the icy down hills at 8 am. Was still able to glide. Some dirty snow but we are in the final stretch. Grateful to ski.
