Eagle Point was in very good condition. Recently packed and groomed, it was soft with breakthrough to the ice or ground below occurring occasionally. Nevertheless with my skis, waxed with FastWax Blue LF, moved pretty fast and easily on the flats. I did walk most uphills but stronger skiers would be able to skate them. Snow was so light that even though the tips/shovels of my skis caught some snow a few times it was no problem. Thanks to groomers for getting out and grooming knowing they will probably have to do it again Thursday.

I went out from about 9:30 - 11:00 am this morning. East side had a few icy spots where the new snow didn't stick very well, but overall great coverage. Slow skiing because of all the rolling and compacting that needs to happen after all this new snow. Beautiful out there and worth the extra effort. No classic tracks set.

Skied the Brown and Green loops starting at 10 AM. Trails had been rolled but no classic track set. Snow worked well for my 35 year old no wax classic skis. No bare spots - nice job of grooming. Snow is thin enough that the poles hit underlying ice. Fastest lap time this year for me.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails are icy under the snow. Use caution when going out and skiing. Hopefully the trails will firm up over night and additional snow will improve the trail conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Lake Elmo groomers are rolling the trails this morning, starting on the East side. There is good coverage and trails look the best they have all winter. No plans to set track until the next snowfall.

Cumulatively conditions were fair; by trail: Browns Pond and Lake Elmo were generally good, Northern Lights fair and Bur Oak poor. Arrived at about 4:30 pm to light fog and very light mist. Skied the perimeter of the east side trails. Had to dodge brown spots but nothing that took me to the trail edges or forced a walk until I reached the point of Northern Lights just before it turned to intersect with Bur Oak. On Bur Oak there were so many spots with dirt coming thru plus a portion of the bridge was bare that I would skip it. I used FastWax Yellow LF. Nice to finally ski something beside Hyland. Hope the season lasts here.

Surprisingly good. No track but skate was good. Some very thin spots, but easy to see and skirt around. West loop around lake a little softer, but still good considering amt of snow.

Skied the Red loop this morning about 10 AM. I am a classic skier, there were no set tracks but some casual tracks. Snow was good quality in the morning - worried about warm afternoon. There were many bare spots on the northern section of the trail around the lake. Otherwise coverage was OK.

Went to Elmo based on pictures and report. A little disappointing. They had a ski race on Friday afternoon so the trail were totally skied out. Some dirt but avoidable, pretty rutted skate lane, no tracks as expected. Good snow however. They need to groom after a race so the general public has something to ski on -- office wasn't sure of the grooming schedule.

Snow was thin in spots but enough to groom and as always, the Lake Elmo crew were on it. Followed behind them around 10am and all of the trails on the East side were done. It was solid skiing! Used good skis, some thin spots on the hill tops, usual pine needles/and leaf debris in the wooded areas, but easy to skate around. Could use a few more inches, but we'll take it! Love the groomers at Lake Elmo. Always doing their best and working with what they've got.
