Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Snow was thin in spots but enough to groom and as always, the Lake Elmo crew were on it. Followed behind them around 10am and all of the trails on the East side were done. It was solid skiing! Used good skis, some thin spots on the hill tops, usual pine needles/and leaf debris in the wooded areas, but easy to skate around. Could use a few more inches, but we'll take it! Love the groomers at Lake Elmo. Always doing their best and working with what they've got.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The lights are back on, and the snow was thin but the groomers have done a great job, and I didn't hit any rocks or bare spots. No set classical track but there is a good casual classical track. The snow was nice and fast for my 35 year old mechanical grip skis. Did the Brown and Green loops and was very happy with the snow and delighted to have a chance to get out. Snow was as good as it was last Monday.

Condition fair to marginally good. Skate lane uneven with shallow snow depth and windblown conditions. Coverage works, except hilltops. Some debris in the woods. Thanks grooming crew for doing your best -- we need artificial snow in the east-metro!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails were well covered with snow and only a few thin spots. Skate deck was firm and appeared to have been regroomed after a bunch of skating yesterday. No classic tracks. A few sections had skied in tracks but it was minimal. Skied late morning and there was no evidence of drifting. I'd plan on drifting snow based on past experience.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trail lights are off until further notice due to extreme weather. Trails on the east side were packed again today and are a little firmer than previously noted. The west side trails were not packed today. No track has been set, trails are still considered thin.

Very good conditions for classic considering the small amount of snow. Trails were rolled/packed but no tracks set Monday afternoon. Since the snow was soft and shallow, lack of tracks wasn't an issue. Kick and glide were excellent with Swix Special Green wax on wood skis. Temp was 9F.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All ski trails were packed Monday following the snow. Groomers report poor/fair condition (due to blowing snow). The base is too thin to set track in many spots, but we may attempt on Tuesday.

A call to Lake Elmo informed me that East side trails were groomed in the morning, and West side trails will be groomed this afternoon. No classic tracks set. Skate deck is soft and thin, but open.
