Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trail lights are off until further notice due to extreme weather. Trails on the east side were packed again today and are a little firmer than previously noted. The west side trails were not packed today. No track has been set, trails are still considered thin.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very good conditions for classic considering the small amount of snow. Trails were rolled/packed but no tracks set Monday afternoon. Since the snow was soft and shallow, lack of tracks wasn't an issue. Kick and glide were excellent with Swix Special Green wax on wood skis. Temp was 9F.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All ski trails were packed Monday following the snow. Groomers report poor/fair condition (due to blowing snow). The base is too thin to set track in many spots, but we may attempt on Tuesday.

A call to Lake Elmo informed me that East side trails were groomed in the morning, and West side trails will be groomed this afternoon. No classic tracks set. Skate deck is soft and thin, but open.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
I skated the outer loop on the east side. This included brown, green, yellow and orange. The conditions were better than I expected and it was really nice to be out. I definitely got some scratches on my B skies from the hills and some bare spots. Couldn't really glide on any of the hills but had fun getting my ski legs back. I also skated the red loop on the west side of the road, I wouldn't recommend skiing this until we get more snow. It was really uneven and had much more bare spots than the east side. It was a great night of skiing!

[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
80% skiing, 20% walking mostly on uphill sections, lots of break throughs and debris, slow but nice to be out.

It was great to ski on the "east side of the Metro." All trails were rolled and open, but the conditions are thin snow...rock skis needed. The trails were mowed and the park is ready...some more snow would make for great skiing!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Skate skied brown and parts of green and orange trail this afternoon. It seems all the trails have been rolled. The snow coverage is minimum with lots of bare spots coming through but all avoidable. Suggest skate ski (B skis) as my wife had very hard time with classic (no wax yoko skis).

Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Rock skis ]
Skied the fresh powder on Sunday morning. No grooming yet, but the coverage was pretty good. My skis hit rocks on a few wind-swept and wooded areas, but it was awesome to be able to ski on natural snow!
