Trails had been snowmobile groomed this morning after the new snow and were in good condition. Just a little on the soft side in places, and the trail wasn't quite full width. There are some sticks here and there, but they are easy enough to avoid. While I was out, there was a PistenBully groomer that had just come in from the direction of the multi use trail, so they may be regrooming with bigger equipment this afternoon.

Skied Island Trail and back on half of the Hill Trail and Fairway Trail starting around noon. Everything looked pristine! Skate deck was very soft, and heard from another classic skier out there that the tracks were also soft.

Very good conditions and groomed this morning. Great grip and glide and trails are in exceptional condition. Used Fischer Twin Skins which I just purchased and blue glide wax and good results. Well worth the drive from Woodbury.

It's been a long time since we've skied at Baker, and it did not disappoint! By the time we got there around 3pm, it was skied in, but firm and fast -- not slippery or icy hardpack. Classic tracks looked good too. Even though it was windy, there wasn't a lot of drifting in open areas as I expected. What a great ski!

First trip to Baker in five years toady (and only my second ever). Arrived mid-morning just as a race was wrapping up. Found the trails used for the race to be slow, squeaky, and packed down hard from the race traffic; such that a technique challenged skier such as myself would have a little trouble holding an edge. Found the trails not used for the race and the trails that were re-groomed after the race (thank you so much groomers!) to be Goldilocks just right corduroy. Easy to edge and noticeably faster from the fresh grooming and warming temperatures. I believe I skied all (or at least most) of the trails and found them to be in excellent shape except for three basketball-sized grassy spots in what is likely a wind blown area of the trail on the fairway behind the clubhouse. All in all, another great day to be on skis and I want to re-emphasize my thanks to the grooming crew for going out after the race to address the hard-pack. It turned a rough day into a memorable experience.

Excellent conditions for an early morning ski. Trails had been freshly groomed and the classic trails were deep and well defined. The skiing was wonderful with dim sun and a light breeze.

Back at Baker! Skating deck was a bit soft but good overall. Classic tracks were not set due to forecast snow but they said they will pack and track the trails after next snowfall. Even with the grey cloudy weather, very beautiful with the snow on all the trees!

Sweet perfection. What a gem! Right up there with Woodland Hills (not quite as punchy). Noon snow was slightly faster than stuff falling later. I lucked out on timing getting first tracks after the double groomer for most of my second lap. Thank you, thank you for freshening up the skate deck mid-snowfall! 5 inches of new snow today, yet still firm as race baskets were holding up fine.

I skate skied most of the trails. They were all in great shape. When I left there was about 1" of new snow on them with more falling. Enjoy it while we can!!

Nice to be on natural snow with for the first time this year. Although not specified on the Three Rivers Park website, classic tracks are set. I did the Island, Timber, Hill, Prairie loop on classic skis and it was soft and quiet with very few skiing. I'll be back there tomorrow.
