Tracks were in great condition under a perfectly blue sky. Skate deck was also in great condition when I used it on some of the uphills. One of my fastest days ever at Baker and even though there was a bit of leaf, etc, debris at times, my Rode Arctic picked up very little in two hours of skiing.

Perfect conditions at Baker today, and well worth the freezing temps! The skate deck is smooth and even, with no ruts from walkers or strange ridges in the middle of the trail. It is very quiet and peaceful at Baker. We were the first or second ones out on the corduroy at noon on a Saturday! Most of the trails are through the woods, so there is no wind to contend with! A great place to ski during the polar deep freeze this weekend.

Only a few classic skiers out and not many more skaters. Cover, of course, was great. Grooming on skate deck looked fine, but tracks for classic were quite worn, especially on Island Trail. With the flat light it was difficult to maintain a controlled line. Light layer of new fallen snow slowed glide a bit but still made for a good day on the trails.

Great conditions late this morning in the beautiful foggy hoarfrost wonderland! Skating deck was very well-groomed, fast but controllable. Classic tracks mostly looked good, just some predictable washouts. Days like today with such good grooming are what make Baker one of my favorites!

Skied the outer loop and fairway trail. Conditions were probably better early. Classic tracks are washed out on right bends and turns from skaters cutting over. Steeper inclines and uphill segments also washed out apparently from skaters and herringboners not staying left of tracks.

Great temp day, skate deck was slightly soft but pretty packed - very skiable, no complaints at all, but who doesn't love fresh cord? Great coverage, great terrain, minimal debris. Classic tracks were set and in decent condition for the most part; some sections were a little rough, but overall set up nice. Covered 95% of the trails; decent signage, there were a couple intersections I wasn't sure of direction, but other skiers helped me out, so many thanks to them for that. Very enjoyable ski, 10/10 would recommend to anyone to check this place out.

Skijored the multi-use trail with skate skis. Soft in areas and not ideal for skating but doable with a dog pulling you. South portion of trail was difficult to find at times due to snow drifts. Appreciate I was able to skijor and had a lovely run.

Skated the outermost loop. Pretty much perfect. Not the fastest snow I've been on but not slow either, and perfect texture. The groomers deserve some kind of prize I think.

A beautiful morning for a classic ski. Even on our waxable skis. Fresh tracks groomed. Somewhat soft when we were the first ones at 9 am to ski them in. A mix of fresh packed snow and ice/snow mix in the tracks. The skate deck was freshly packed and looked excellent. The only wax I had with me was special red wax. Yikes...But it worked fine.

Only a few trails groomed. Snow appears to be too soft and wet for grooming. The Fairway trail was groomed and pretty skiable. A little bit of resistance from sinking in a little, but very manageable.
