Notes

8KM groomed for classic, 7KM groomed for both classic and skating. The classic loop is one through wooded terrain and offers extensive views of the Mississippi River. The trailhead is located at the Mississippi National Golf Course Parking lot 2 miles south of Red Wing. Also known as Red Wing East End Recreational Area.

Trail is firm and in good shape but pretty icy in spots, should be decent near end of day. Would not recommend skiing early morning - took a couple falls on the hills due to the ice and high speed.

Skied bluff and golf course on Tuesday/Wednesday - both are in excellent condition. Bluff is not groomed down to 7th street and the overlook area to Red Wing is soft and full of boot tracks but it is doable. Outside of that the rest of the trail is awesome.

Memorial Bluff Loop and Climb is in great conditions. The climb was beautifully groomed and decently firm. Some of the wooded trails on the east side of the bluff and the exposed areas got soft, but otherwise it was a great ski. Nice work groomers!

First time there today and probably should have stayed home. Classic ski track is almost entirely ice, with sections of sticky tree debris. So you're careening down the rails of this track when you get stopped dead by tree debris. This has everything to do with the melting we've had over the past few days. I will be back when the conditions are better, as it looks like it would be super fun in better snow.
