Trail Reports

2022-2023 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 20    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Whole system is open for spring skiing. Classic tracks are thin and icy. On trails with a southern exposure, the classic tracks were bare ground and you have to jump out and ski on the skate lane. The skate deck is firm but uneven in spots. Hopefully with more snow, conditions will improve and the trails can be refreshed.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Fresh 7 inches were groomed this morning; classical ski track was set and should be firm by tomorrow morning. Hiking and snowshoe trail was packed. Fat tire bike should allow snow to firm up and avoid using trails when it is above 34 degrees. Thanks!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Softening fast, but all really skiable and fast. Other side of the creek was only one set of snowshoe tracks and a classic track from a half dozen skiers. Still very skiable. With sunny days, this is all going to deteriorate fast. In just the two hours I was out, thin spots were getting noticeably thinner. Bikes seemed to have a little trouble on the uphills, spinning out and cutting grooves. Saw two skating, what seemed to be a little slow and sticky.

Ski trails were awesome today... in better condition than the reviewer! Prettiest view around is the skied-in classic trail along the Goat Prairie.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The multi-use trails were all combed out and classic track was re-set. The snow is perfect for skiing! We did also comb out the Kisrow trail and the Chester Lake trail as well, but no track set on those.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The multi-use at Chester Woods Park have all been combed out and track was re-set. The cold temps will harden the trail up nicely so things should be set and ready to go!

Trails were groomed this morning and were in great shape save for some hikers' tracks. Classic track intact throughout.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The multi-use trails were all combed out today after heavy use over the weekend. The classic track was left alone. The Chester Lake Trail and the Kisrow Trail were also combed out for snowshoers and hikers.

Plenty of snow cover. Soft snow plus tracks from fat tire bikes, hikers, and other skiers leads to an inconsistent, lumpy skate deck. Skiing was enjoyable, but slow. Could use a new grooming. Classic track was intact throughout.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The multi-use trails at Chester Woods Park were groomed this morning and classic track re-set. The snow was still as bit sticky and soft, but with the colder temps the track should harden up nicely. The Chester Lake Trail and the Kisrow Trail were also combed out for snowshoers, hikers and dog walkers.
