Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied Hiram early this morning while trail still icy and firm. Conditions are fair to poor but still can be skied. There are several bare spots now and the track is getting shallow and rough in many areas. Still not too much forest litter in track at this point.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied Hiram early this morning while it was still frozen hard, temp around 10 degrees. The track in most places is still well defined but very icy and very fast. Purple ice klister was working great. On the south facing hills with no tree cover the track is in rough shape. There is still not much forest litter in the track. Between the ski traffic and the deer traffic the trail is getting a bit chewed up but over all it is still good skiing. Just use caution on the steeper downhill runs if you are skiing while its still frozen from the over night re-freeze.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied Hiram today mid morning to just past noon. Conditions are still good overall for March skiing. The track in most places is still deep and well formed with not muck ice yet. The sections that are open to the sun and have a more southern exposure are getting very shallow and icy. You can step out of the track onto the deck which is still not icy if you want to avoid the worst spots. There is some forest litter in the track but most areas are still clean. Get out and enjoy the skiing this weekend if you are able.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiram trail is generally in very good condition. Track is deep and well defined and holding up to the weather and the sun well. A little more leaf debris since wind was up a bit. The trail from parking lot to bench is in the poorest condition with more icy and poorly defined track-more exposed and south and west facing aspect. A great trail, get out and enjoy it before the warm weather.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed and set new track at Hiram this morning after all the new snow on Monday. Conditions are very good over all for spring skiing. Some places the track is a little shallow and ragged where the sun had already reduced the depth of the new snow to work with. It is a little soft right now but should firm up over night. There were quite a few sticks and pine cones down on the trail but I tried to pick up ever thing that I could see so you shouldn't have to worry about running over it in the track. Get out and enjoy some good spring skiing while it lasts.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed and reset tracks at Hiram this morning. There was a lot of new snow to work with after last night. The track turned out well but it and the deck will be soft until it has a chance to set up. The wind was picking up and knocking down more snow along with some leaves onto the trail. Get out and enjoy all the fresh new snow. The parking lot has not been plowed since the last two snows so it is tough getting in and out without all wheel drive.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Made one quick trip around the trail system this morning to reset track after the snow Thursday night. Track is fairly deep and clean even under the pines. The track will be soft since it was just set this morning but it should be good skiing today. I plan to groom again Sunday morning. Get out and enjoy some fun skiing this weekend.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail was groomed and new track set this afternoon. Conditions are good over all but track is still shallow under the thick pines. Some sections of the track are a little ragged due to the track setter icing up at times. Should be good skiing tomorrow, get out if you can.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied late afternoon at Hiram today after a little new snow last night. Very windy today with snow drifting into the track. Forest litter not to bad after all the wind we have had, mostly just some oak leaves. Track is holding up ok, just getting shallow with the little snows we have been getting. Still worth getting out there and skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied Hiram both yesterday afternoon and this afternoon. There was around a 1/4 inch of new snow in the track today. The track is holding up fairly well but as reported earlier it is shallow in many areas with the lack of loose snow to work with during the last grooming. Still a good ski and will be fine for the weekend.
