Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, B skis ]
We are no longer grooming at Giants Ridge. Thank you for a great season! However there is still snow on the trails we had been grooming, so if you still want to get some more K's in you can.

Gold, Bronze and Summit trails were newly groomed Saturday morning and were fabulous. Slightly soft corduroy that was fast. About 1/2" new snow from the dreaded :) Winter Weather Advisory--just enough to cover the icy trails from Friday night. Some wind, perfectly blue skies. Wynne Creek trail also nice. Practically had the place to ourselves with just a couple each classic and freestyle skiers. I believe they will be open through April 8. Great late season skiing!

Grooming

Good conditions still exist at Giants Ridge! We had 5" of new snow Monday, and we are still grooming the Summit, Bronze, Gold, Cedar, and Northern lights with the Pisten Bully! We are also grooming the Biwabik Spur with the Ginzu. That is over 33K of nordic skiing still available! Trail passes are $12. Come get the conditions while they last!

Skied the Cedar, Gold and Silver trails yesterday, all were Pisten Bully groomed and although the Silver Trail's South Facing hills were starting to get thin, they were excellent. Base was still 6-8" with excellent classic tracks. Today and tomorrow should be the same. I would like to see some other skiers out there than just my close friends who know about how good it still is!

Skiing, classic and freestyle, is fabulous. Oslo is closed, otherwise all trails are open and groomed with the piston bully. I've been skiing all week on my best skis. Today started at 4 degrees and climbed into the 30s, maybe 40.

An excellent weekend for spring skiing at Giant's Ridge. All trails excellent with exception of some easily avoided debris tilled up on the Silver Trail. Otherwise both classic and skate in great shape and a nice coating of sugar snow this morning, Sunday. Thanks to the groomers who have been grooming the entire system every couple of days. Come on up and enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions continue to be great at Giants Ridge. We are grooming on two shifts with the PistenBully to keep the trails in peak conditions. Freeze thaw cycles will continue to play the biggest factor in conditions. Check in with the website or the front desk to see which trails have been groomed most recently.

Skied classical 10 a.m. 27 degrees on Cedar, Summit, Biwabik Spur, Oslo, Bronze and Gold trails in perfect, crystalline new tracks. Grip was fantastic with hard kick wax. Skate skied Silver and Northern lights trails after 11:30 a.m.. Very good glide with a mixed bag of conditions. A little icy glaze, south face hill melting and dry, cool snow in the shaded areas. Much better than Tuesday's skate between 2:00 and 4:00! Timing is the key with the wonderful warmer weather.

20+ inches of new snow last week, three feet of powder and at least one foot base. Unbelievably great conditions! Skied the Silver, Northern Lights, Summit, Biwabik Spur, Bronze and Gold trails and found them all to be flat, firm, perfect corduroy deck and tracks a day after yet another 8" storm. Finally, the cold, dry, slow grit is gone and Spring skiing is finally here!
