Rolled and combed 3" of new, dry snow. Reset tracks. Great late season skiing as the post-Birkie season sets in.

1 PM skate. Trails had been groomed prior to the light dusting we got a couple nights ago so conditions were firm yet the top powder layer combined with cold temps made for relatively slow conditions. Still very skiable. We chatted with one of the landowners that is also the groomer and thanked them. Nice midwinter day.

Skate lanes are very firm but there was a dusting of powder on top that helped with getting a grip. The trails seemed to make it thru the recent thaw quite well as there was hardly any rutting. Classic tracks are fairly shallow but intact for much of the trails. This was our first time at this nice set of trails so we didn't explore everything.

Grooming

Rolled, combed and set tracks on the 3" of new snow from the weekend storm. Great base and the skiing should be great for the weekend.

Skated the trail today. Great condition. Softer in the sunny spots. Felt like a perfect March day, but wait, it's still a month until the Birkie. Tracks were looking good and had been skied in recently.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied late morning as it warmed up. Skate deck was good considering the limited snowfall so far. Just a few spots with a little grass showing, no dirt or anything that would damage skis. Tracks had been set, appeared to have been used successfully, but were shallow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We have had several rounds of light snow, a little rain and another couple inches. Trail has been rolled and combed twice and is quite skiable. No tracks set yet but the skate lanes are good. 4-6 inch base packed in most areas. Dry summer let us add a couple more K's so about 8K are open now.
