We found enough ski-able snow for our first Snow Series event of the season. Snow cover is very thin with bare patches and wet patches.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skiing is still surprisingly good for how little snow there is. A little bit of glaze is showing up from the freeze-thaw cycle and is starting to get a bit icy in spots. Steeper hills are beginning to become difficult to climb without getting into dirt, but otherwise the thin areas are easy to dodge. Thin spots are growing with each additional day of warm weather though.

Well worth the trip! Skate only, no classic tracks. If you want to avoid the dirt patches, stay on the easy trails they have great coverage and are not icy at all. If you don't snowplow, you can avoid most of the dirt patches on the hills but you will risk some scratches.

Due to warmer weather the past few days, some bare spots on the south facing hills, but definitely capable of getting a great ski in. Still no classic track set.

The steeper hills were not groomed yet, but the groomer was still out there when I left. A few sticks and dirty spots. The I-loop was groomed. I skied about 7 miles of trail. More than that is groomed. No tracks, too shallow.

Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
I drove to Tower Ridge but found it to be closed for day skiing due to hunting. The trail looked okay.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
All the trails are groomed, but hasn't been tracked for classic skiing. A couple of bald spots on the steeper uphill/downhill sections. Anywhere from 1-3" of snow covering over 95% of the trails. Fingers crossed for more snow!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
All trails have been rolled. No tracks have been set. The groomer did dig up a few leaves and dirt, but most of the trails are snow covered. I used the skis I used in the 2018 Birkie. The flat areas of the trails should provide good skiing, the hills are a different matter.

Afternoon
Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Most ]
The crew groomed the trails and they are open but only after dark due to deer hunting (muzzle and bow) seasons are still open. The lights are on. Snow cover is adequate but thin in spots.
