Those hard working groomers are still creating their corduroy magic! The red and green had some fresh cord and the tracks were mostly there, just a bit fast. Temps were hovering around 28 or so while I was out there today, Bambi and Woody Woodpecker each made an appearance but I had the rest of the system to myself! Don't let the parking lot area scare you, once you get beyond and onto the green the trail is in great shape with less than a handful of open spots that are easy to get around. The red has the typical places where the pines take away the snow more quickly. Weekend grooming has ceased and the daily grooming will continue through the week...the groomer said they are taking it day by day. It is very well worth the drive for some fantastic skating, not icy either!

Fast, fun spring skating. Recently groomed. There's still a lot of snow on most of the trail but we ran across a couple of bare patches we had to squeak around. Some pine needles and cones here and there. We used our good skis, but you might want B skis soon.

Mostly good. Some debris has fallen on the trail that you have to ski around now. There are two dirt spots underneath thick trees. Still ski-able around all of the debris and the few dirt patches.

Classic skiing was a mixed bag, some icy areas, some new snow in the tracks. Lot of pine cones in some areas. Scrapped off the kick wax and used them for skating. Skating was much better than classic. Groomer was out so there was fresh cord and pretty fast track.

Excellent freshly groomed conditions again today! Thank you groomers! Classic track and skate deck were fresh and the snow was absolutely perfect! Reminder, the Yellow trail and part of the purple will be closed from 6am until 1:30 tomorrow, Sunday for the Stride, Ride, Glide tri! The road to the yellow, orange, purple will also be closed during that time.

Skied all the trails in the system Friday evening just prior to sunset. All trails have been regularly groomed this week and are holding up extremely well despite relatively warm mid-day temps. Brown's Point (yellow trail) is particularly good, as wide and smooth as it's been in years. Conditions should be great for Sunday mornings Stride, Ride and Glide Triathlon. Check it out!

My son and I skied this area for the first time today and were very impressed. The grooming was amazing! I would recommend going early in the morning before the snow gets too soft. My son skate skied and I did classic. The trails are really wide which is great for being able to ski together.

We did more marking of the Yellow trail today and it was again freshly groomed and in impeccable shape! The snow depth is great for the trails and they will be in tip top shape on Sunday morning for the Stride, Ride, Glide Tri! Cord is awesome, hills are in super shape too! Huge thank you to those groomers for their hard work!

I was out marking the trail for Sunday's Stride, Ride, Glide Tri and the groomers have been working overtime beyond the 7 workdays a week they normally work to make it impeccable! It's always a treat to ski the Superior Municipal Forest trails and know there will be fresh cord and new tracks. The yellow trail was in perfect shape for both skate and classic. Sundays event supports the groomers and conditions should be prime!

The groomers are hoping to have everything groomed by the end of today (may only miss the purple loop if they run out of time). They also reset track on all of the Red and Green loops. They hope to have fresh track set on the Blue, Purple and Yellow tomorrow. This Sunday, a winter triathlon is being held on our trails, which means the yellow and part of the purple will be closed from approximately 6 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
