Grooming Scheduling [
] |
Conditions: We received about 4 – 5 inches of snow today and last night. The groomers had 68 k groomed and tracked by 9 AM this morning and skiing was a bit stormy but pretty with the snow on the trees.
Grooming plans: We will regroom classic only trails in the AM and we will start to groom the SISU Race course in the sequence that we will be racing next Saturday AM. What this means is that Pit Point and Bachelors loops will be groomed and skied backwards all week and connectors will be groomed as well. This gives skiers a chance to preview the race course and day skiers a chance to the course as well. The SISU Ski Fest is next Saturday starting at ABR at 8:30 AM and heading into downtown Ironwood. The majority of the skate trails at ABR will be used for the race Saturday morning. We will have about 30 km of classic open all day and 5 k of skating aopen all day. The entire ABR trail system opens again for skiing about 1 PM Saturday.

Conditions: Yet another perfect day at ABR.
Perfect grooming. Deep base. Temperature mid-20s. Happy people. Doesn't get much better than that.

Conditions: You can only describe perfect with so many words.
The Cities don't have snow because Ironwood took it all. I was amazed at the amount of snow the area has received. The trails were in just immaculate condition. There wasn't a bad spot on the entire trail. It's amazing how trails look with 2 feet of snow :).

I had been hearing from a Ashland ABR Season pass holder how his favorite trail was Bear Bait.....so I did Sunset, Sunrise, Wolf Tracks and Bear Bait this morning. What a pretty trail with the River and so remote. Yes the turns are more sharp than the Pisten Bully groomed trails we have. What a nice experience, next time I will include Otter Slide....when a have a little more gas in the tank since it is a nice 17 k single track route.]Yes we are open Weekdays, weekends, Holidays at 9 AM, and the rental shop and ski shop are open too.

The 6-8 inches yesterday groomed in well last night with the Pisten Bully. All classic only trails were done as well again this morning. We picked up another inch or so during the day and will be regrooming for Monday. We are grooming and skiing 60 km with a honest 12 inch base.

Conditions: Trails were groomed this morning after about 4 inches of snow last night and were in very good condition.
Trails were a little soft with the 4-5 inches of new snow this morning. Most of the trails were groomed this morning and we had a great ski from 9am until about 1 PM.

Conditions: Fresh snow with perfect grooming. Today's below freezing temp helps too.
With plenty of fresh snow the last 2 days of skiing has been very enjoyable on the classic tracks and skate lanes. The overnight/early morning grooming turns the whole trail system a skiing paradise. Well worth a 4 hour drive to get here from the Twin Cities.

Conditions: We picked up another 3 inches of snow this morning and last night. The groomers groomed 60 km of trails and reset classic tracks on 60 km of trail. We are now skiing 60 km of trails, 58 km in excellent skiing condition. The River is back down and we are skiing the loops along the River. It snowed all day today and the groomers headed back out this afternoon.
We are open daily at 9 AM including Christmas Eve day and Christmas Day. (Photo of the Woodbury high school team)
