The warm temps and freezing rain we had earlier this week caused no problems for getting our system back to excellent this morning. The snow we rolled in last night and this morning did the trick. Tracks of course were reset throughout Maasto and Churning Rapids. Photos say it all.

The trails were great on Saturday. The base is deep, and the trails have been groomed often, so they are flat and smooth, with nice firm tracks. The icing on the cake for Saturday was that it stopped snowing long enough for the sun to come out.

We were treated not only perfectly groomed trails but also blue skies, a mild 5F degree day with only a light breeze. Tracks and trail surface both incredible!

Everything was rolled or dragged level, then fresh tracks made early this morning. Of course, everything remains in excellent condition.

Folks, we've settled into normal trail conditions along with the modest daily snow fall. This morning some of the system was dragged, while the rest was rolled. Of course everywhere got new tracks. Excellent conditions continue. Side note: We have machines in need of maintenance and if the snowfall lessens, we'll be in the shop, repairing them. The snow has not stopped in over three weeks!

NOAA missed the overnight forecast by quite a bit. The wind was supposed to crank up overnight with just a dusting of new snow falling. But what we saw was 10" early this morning with light winds. Nonetheless, we got this deep, yet light snow rolled down and new tracks made. All trails are excellent again. If you don't get out there soon, this wind does fill the tracks up, in the more exposed areas.

This wind is making a mess of trails located in more open areas. Nonetheless, all gorge trails, Vista, Sidewinder and a few more were smoothed up via the magical drag earlier this morning. Followed by all tracks being remade via ginzu. Hope you get out there to enjoy them.

Conditions are excellent everywhere throughout Maasto and Churning Rapids, with our recent and ongoing bout of cold and snowy weather. Not often we use kick wax other than special blue here but we'll take it!

All trails open and in excellent condition. Pole plants are firm, and tracks are well set with a best line course throughout. Great terrain for a long tour that is never boring. The Keweenaw saw temps in the double digits above zero today!

We rolled in the snow that fell, and blew in, over the past 24 hours. The wind continues to blow, so you might miss on these top conditions if you ski, ride or snowshoe in more open areas. Conditions are excellent. Hope you bundle up and get out to enjoy!
